I remember it well, and very apt
Les.

ERF Trailblazer, and I’m riding on Bandags.
Remember often seeing a Transcon on the road with ‘Nanu Nanu’ on it ( Mork & Mindy) another with ‘Starship Enterprise’ a Scottish Leyland Marathon with ‘Classic Bike’ and Fiat/Iveco with ‘The Bunnet’ think it was a Scottish Archibold’s driver

Yes classic bike ,also those stickers" my other cars a motorbike "

I drove around for a while with ’ A1 TRUCKERS CLUB’ at the bottom of the windscreen & ’ TRUCKING WITH BRUNO ON RADIO 1’ at the top of the windscreen on an F7.
I could hardly see out the window , so didn’t last long…

My dad had a ■■■■■■■ sun strip in his B series. Would give anything to have one of these back.

Good question Dennis, Im sure there will be lots of opptions , There are lots of words that start with the letter C that would suit, Plus the letter F, well I could come up with some crackers, But being a professional haulage man & Of course a Gentleman too, Plus Ive got my reputation to concider also, So I will stay quiet for the moment & have another Glenmorangie just to keep me calm as this CF Geeza ■■■■■■ me off frequently, Regards Larry.

North Kilworth Depot alive & kicking…

I’ve still got Dads’ “Gardner Diesel Engines” one that came out of a B reg Foden. I put it in the Alpha when I was on Smiths (not stuck but clipped in with those sucker things you use for Christmas decorations. Some jobsworth took it out on my day off, said they were now illegal. Is this true?
Dad also had the Isle of Man TT one…in a T reg Allegro Super. I don’t know what was super about it.

Don’t think anyone found out what was “Super” about them. A lot of people called them an “Agro” because they were so much trouble.

Kernels truckstop sun strip on the front of mine in 1993 but i cut the bit off saying hardys over 30s disco because my ex doris used to come with me sometimes  can just see it at the bottom of the screen under the wipers as i moved it :open_mouth:

While working for Fergusons we used to carry both Michelin and Dunlop tyres. Tried time and again to scrounge a sun strip from Michelin but nothing doing. Till the day we managed to get hold of some Dunlop strips. As soon as one of our units pulled into Michelin’s depot. They were on the phone demanding they be removed. Think it was Bob Brown who explained we were using them to kill sun glare, so they would remain on the screens. A couple of days later a parcel was delivered with a stack of Michelin strips. With a letter asking that any vehicle entering their depot should have the Michelin strip and not the Dunlop one.

Nice one that .
