Well because it is up to the company owner to decide what the trucks should look like.
Who do you work for? Our firm has some funny rules. Staff at some depots enforce it, others donāt. As long as the windscreen is clear and we have no diy electrics, most other things are ok

Do as youāre told. Thereāll be a few unemployed drivers out there perfectly happy to drive an un bull(you know what) truck.

well itās quite clear really. Legally nothing can obstruct you view. However it seems more that your company / depot has a policy where modification is a big no no, to cover themselvesā¦
Each to their own and if thatās what you want then sure but doesnāt look like itāll be in their trucks and to be fair if i owned the trucks i wouldnāt allow it eitherā¦
I see the cab curtain, floor mat buying tank polishing as Wanabe O/D! Especially when the said driver then tries to dictate what another driver does/uses THEIR Cab!
I cab hop at my current job! And I canāt stand all the tassle crap! It shouldnāt be allowed as only a minority are like this! Most of us drivers would prefer not to have to chuck fluffy cushions on the bunk or other tat hanging in front of the windscreen!

Itās more the boss than the driver where you work

i think it goes back to when scania first brought out the topliner they came with the graphics on, and then people just carried it on once they stopped putting them on, ours are all detailed the same just the newest one has the air brushing where as the slightly older ones donāt, but that was more of a one off as it was the first one that was bought brand new, and the others were a couple of years old
Yeah, could be I sāpose. Donāt get me wrong, each to their own and all that.
The only one that really annoys me is that poxy āintercoolerā sticker thatās been going for ever. I feel like getting one made in the same script that says ādoorsā or āheaterā
It was the MAN Diesel and Unterflur that got me, its not difficult to miss is it?
Advert for Truckin Smart in May Trucking mag:
āCurtains from Ā£140ā
āEngine tunnel covers from Ā£165ā
WTF do you want engine tunnel covers for unless you drive a vintage lorry?
Amazes me people moan about wages yet blow a weeks worth of money on crap like this.
Each to their own. I donāt see the attraction to spending wages on ā ā ā ā , but some do. Horses for courses. If someone spends their wages on ā ā ā ā , it donāt hurt me, so why does me spending MY cash on my (regular to drive) lorry need anyoneās approval
