MIKE P:
keep the pics coming,
Seconded. I never drove for them but in the dim distant past - 1980 or thereabouts - lived in Langport (Somerset) and can still remember listening to ERF B series tankers at night going down the box down the hill before going under the railway bridge heading west. Also seeing the farm tankers around Somerset, could have been Clydesdales(?)
i was based in shepherds bush, used to load up in a creamery in wellington. . A303 then cut up thru langport . .Once loaded it was M5-M4 back to london . More miles but easy run home.
SJ Bargh . . VolvoF6 farm collection tank
On sugar contract ‘Napier Brown’
UHR 546 . .Bedford ‘j’ . . with 1500 gallon tank . this was based at the wood lane dairy in london.

My new motor.

My new motor.
How do you find a 420 pulling at full weight, seems like it might be a touch underpowered to me?
Its like most motors Dew could do with more power, but its only 2 weeks old so still tight, but its pulls alright if you can keep it on the limiter, once you get baulked it takes time to regain your speed.
Just finished my 2nd week with it and its averaged 9.03mpg over 3100km
s, i would expect that to rise as the engine beds in.
At one of the newsagent shops by Yeovil bus station i saw a book about Wincanton Transport, with all the archive photos, not sure if the book will still be there, you can park in the service yard, turn in by the Weatherspoon pub, should be ok for 5 mins to park.
Unigate…Albion farm collection tank.
