Those tandems were still knocking around in 1994 Jim.We used to get them at Maltby and were quickly reloaded back for Uttoxeter,Chippenham and Milton Keynes, real noisy sheds those fridges.

hello chris, the uttoxeter boys used to overnite at ou london depot, had many a pint with them. you know the nites where you done more miles in the pub than you did on any motorway !!

A couple more on the milk…

I used to load out of severnside in the late 70s it was MMB then. . . . Quite often you would be in a queue of 10 tanks waiting to be loaded , nice canteen tho!!

Nothings changed its still a slow load or tip, got there last week to load cream and the flexi pipe had burst, there was cream on the roof and dripping off the gutters…!

we used to load a small tank (3100 gallon) and take it to a cheese factory in milton keynes, the unloading pipe was like a garden hose. . . 3 hour tip !!!

You certainly need patience in this job, got to Bellshill thursday 7.45am to pick up a load of re-claim milk, left at 3.45am friday morning…

Loading at severnside keep her tight in drive I’m coming threw

There isn`t a lot of room to load, I had to get the trailer almost touching the barrier to get the pipe to reach. By the time they had replaced the pipe and got ready to load, it was going to be late, so I dropped the tank and parked up on the estate, such is life on the milk…

i done 12 years on the tanks . . Had one nite-out, got stuck in the snow on the A303. . stayed in a pub so all was not bad !!
