Will he be prosecuted

A lad who parks next to me lost about 4 tonne of his load yesterday, police and all on scene I heard that a lorry had lost part of a load on radio 2 and where it was and what the load was I thought it might be him.Anyway pulled in yard last night and he is there sitting in cab so I went over to him and yes it was him, told me what happend and then said the police told him to forget it things happen :open_mouth: He told me he is not going to here anything else about it what do think  .

Lucky ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–

Was it on the M62 Jct 11, Monday evening? Probably get done for unsecure load.

i lost a skip off my trailer on a roundabout ,police were brilliant ,they accepted that the skip was faulty and i coudnt have forseen the accident, so not to worry about it ,if they didnt read him his rights at the scene he probably wont be charged

It was on the A5 don’t want to give to much info because his pride is hurt  and also who might read this forum.

Sorry that my post wasn’t up to the standard you require,i was just surprised you loose 4 tonne on a public highway and nothing happens. As for your comment about getting a thrill if I had been near him I would have the first to help him and the last to leave.

Ignore him ? Why?

The thread is titled Will he be prosecuted ?
Then we get a few bits of a story about an incident, finishing with

The police have said ā€œforget itā€ apparently. As long as his mate didn’t imagine that, then the answer to the question is right there.

So it looks to me and at least one other as if you posted this to spread a juicy bit of gossip and to embarrass your mate. Basically, stirring it.
Naturally no-one will be able to figure out which incident from the few ā€œfactsā€ you’ve mentioned so far - A5, radio report, an approximate date, the type of work you do.
Oh, you didn’t mention the type of work you do in this post, so no-one could possibly know that, could they?

must have eyeballed you billybigrig, I was going the other way towards Flint

It’s not about what I do or anyone else,it could be any of us even me.What the post is asking is will he be prosecuted because I honestly don’t no.So if one of us lost 4 tonne somewhere and the police came and highways to clean it up and the police had our name and all our details and said forget it we wouldn’t here anything else about it.I thought we are responsible for our load at all times and if this happens we are in the (zb) big time,if he’s got away with it well done

Honestly think Police would let off a driver for shedding his load and causing delays and upset on the motorways, which cost’s ££££ when delayed. I cannot see it happening, but saying that you might of had a copper who was having a good day and let one person off but shedding a load can be dodgy for other road users

i know its a bit diffrent but i didnt get charged with anything when i stuffed a 7.5t in the rear of a ford sierra

I did see a couple of yours mate

Driver might not get done, no.

But someone (the company) can expect a colossal bill from the Highways Agency/Police/Clean up Contractors.

Driver in Aberdeen lost loads of bales of plastic going round a corner came out the side of curtainsider 1/2mile later driver noticed something wrong FFS really lucky nobody injured as bales fell on road and pavement wer pedestrians wait to cross road… Pics on stv website

I saw him again just and asked him if he’s had anyone contact him.He said not yet, what you said could cause a problem we are all owner drivers and that’s why the post is a little witheld with information.

Did he get cautioned by the Police at the scene? If he did, it could be up to 6 months before he hears anything.
