Correct!
The Wild Group was all the small firms that Vic Wild, (AKA The Vicar), took over, he was like an early Eddie Stobart I suppose
Some I remember in the Group were:
Gleave Transport,
J,Frost Transport,
North Shropshire Transport,
McPhee’s,
Tancock Transport,
Maddern Transport,
Other firms I can’t remember the names of, there was a yard in Trafford Park,
I seem to think that the depot in Newport South Wales was Wild Group, I don’t remember any other name.
There was another firm in Bourne Lincolnshire that did a lot of bricks.
There was the Wild’s Motors from Altringham but they were all blue, but there was also a Wild Transport from Rochester that ran in the Wild Group colours but had no connection with the Wild Group.

Maddern Transport were from Redruth in Cornwall, Tancocks were from Exeter. While being part of the Wild Group, Denis Tancock was trying to undermine the Vicar and do his own thing.
When the Wild Group collapsed, Tancock’s morphed into Heaver Transport, owned I believe by a previous transport manager at Tancock’s, Tom Heaver and his brother.
Wild group also bought a haulier near Glasgow Hugh clelland and sons a well known steel hauler from chryston which was close to gartcosh steel works
