Why we should all vote labour in the next g/e

If you think about it, News reports of “Labour being ahead 30 points in the polls” - doesn’t help Labour AT ALL right now, as it guarantees 100% that we won’t be getting a general election in the near future under ANY circumstances.

Wot if such news is the regular bs we’ve been led to expect from the mainstream media though?

Isn’t it about time that Labour stepped up to the mark, and actually announced some policy rollouts whilst the media is paying attention to them

I still don’t see any reason for Ex-Conservative voters to switch to Keir Starmer’s Labour, as “voting against the Tories” here - is more likely to result in a higher turnout of regular labour voters, but that’s all… Then they have to decide if they are going to vote SNP, Green, Libdem, or stick with Labour on top… :unamused:

This country, if anything - needs a single issue party to make such a concept “fashionable”…

The Tories did it with something as grey and murky as Brexit, so why can’t Labour press forwards with policy rollouts that make the lives better for actual working people■■?

Here’s a simple one to start:

A lower rate of income tax on overtime.

At present, if you get paid a salary of say, £50k for a 40 hour week - you are going to be wealthier net than a £30k worker who does £20k of overtime…
because they’ll have to make more trips to work at fuel cost, time cost, lifestyle cost than the bod who gets that same wage as a basic…

BUT… If you had say, a lower-tier 15% income tax rate on “overtime” instead, then the overtime performer - would edge ahead, and it would actually be worth their while for a 48hour worker to actually BOTHER doing overtime on top of that.

Such a move - wouldn’t lose the exchequer money, as salaried people who don’t do overtime - carry on paying the rates of tax and NI as it is now
