Why people dislike dhl

Ok another one to see if this gets as much attention as the stobart one

cause they’re [zb]s maybe

DHL ?

Probably one of the best companies in Europe to work for.
.
.

I go to B&Q in swindon and i think its a DHL yard and everyone seems very friendly.

as an ex DHL empoyee…i can honestly say they make stobart look good.

Id take a job with dhl

probally because there’s a good basic rate enhanced at time and a half, double time , bank holiday rate , full sick pay, 28 days holiday, contributary pension with company contribution, free medicals, dcpc paid, strict legal running, all time paid, reasonable kit [not the best], etc the list is not endless , but I am quite happy with dhl, and so are the 30+ drivers at our yard. thanks for asking

To me DHL seem like a wincanton type operator, too much red tape wrapped around the job, scruffy looking fleet that’s replaced every 5+ years & rentals left right & centre. They are so fussy about Agy in my area most lads I know have given up & work elsewhere…

  • all that ‘go green’ 52mph bollox, I hate that…!

I have worked for both Stobart and DHL all be it in different parts of the country (depot where based that is). Have to say DHL was by far the better of the two, nicer people in office (didn’t dump on you every opportunity they got) and I was paid too (unlike at Stobarts!!!). However both are big companies and I prefer to work for smaller companies

too much BS. far too much due to the blame culture

however, the drivers are good lads, the office staff are more interested in saving fuel than saving an hourly rate and i know the job inside out and they are quite happy to give me an average £500 take home every week. i love DHL

of course this is one contract. there is another one nearby who are even better payers due to double manned runs to aberdeen but their management are all pen-pushing desk jockeys who i wouldnt trust to manage a box of pencils so it really is dependant on each individual site

Who knows??

For me im Monday to friday days £27500 guaranteed salary for 48 hours, £12ph for all hours worked over 48, paid for every hour i work none of that 30 mins deducted for break SCAM. Treble time/double time + 1 day in lieu/single time + 2 days in lieu which ever you fancy for Bankholidays or just stay at home and get paid £105 for doing naff all. £200 for an extra shift at the weekend if you fancy it. Work im expected to do is as easy as it comes, bit of multi drop RDC’S cash and carrys etc etc with a reload if possible. Very strict working whithin the law, they actually want you to slow down and take your time, no pressure at all. Company pension which they contribute to = £2 for every £1 of mine worth £2500 from them to me a year. 4 times a year get a payment of £105 if you’ve not been sick or late which for me personally is never so bonus. All training provided free of charge while being paid to attend NVQ’S, DCPC etc.

Bad points lorrys are scruffy due to being run 24/7 and alot of angency using them, most of them clocking up 900,000 kms in 4 years with another year to go, but then again they are always safe legal and serviced on time as are the trailers. Personally i would rather have the money in the bank than a new lorry every 2-3 years. Uniform is crap, plus better off buying your own PPE as the supplyed stuff is crap again my personal preference (but still get DHL discount at ARCO   ). I don’t agree with the politics that come from the powers that be, i.e under cutting to get contracts etc etc. i just drive for them to earn a wage which is always paid right and on time.

So still don’t know why people dislike them, may be they had to wait a few hours for a load once not sure. But it looks good from where im standing.

You lot must work for a different DHL to me.

Positive DHL experiences are most definitely depot/contract dependant.

There is that many depots now, all doing things different in different ways. Don’t get me wrong management make some shocking decisions and had to fight for what we have, but i get paid well for what im expected to do so just happy.

People say that DHL Drivers are the Crem de la Crem,
The “Cream of the Crop” because they have reached the
top ladder in their industry.

They are highly skilled professionals.

DHL Drivers rarely have less than 30 grand on their P60’s.

It must be the German technique -
When you work for DHL you know you’ve already arrived.

What a load of spherical objects. Each contract is different but from my experience they employ some of the most selfish, spineless a*** licking tossers in the industry. All good at shouting the odds and talking a good job but when the chips are down etc.

Can only agree there pal, as in one of my previous posts where i was sick of the Im not doing that attitued. We have all of the above at my depot and some even come under multiple titels. I can only speak for myself i would hope i am seen as one of the good ones, will always do my best to get the job done, got time to help anyone, not got a problem telling folk how it is, i can take constructive criticism i love a bit of banter and always follow through with my promises. Would hope other drivers from other companys don’t do what DHL are good at and tar everyone with the same brush.

Used to work at DHL depot, football with people’s parcels was quite common around xmas, as well as thrown… and some drivers only walked away with £30 after a days work self employed…

As a current DHL employee, they want to take over the world, they lie, they want to ‘appear to be doing good’ to the outside world, behind closed doors your just an expendable number. Worst company I have ever worked for. Hours are good and pay is good.

i work for dhl too if they keep paying me £10.22 ph monday to friday ill keep working for them plus 0t after 48hrs
