Why park like a cunt?

So I decide to park up for the night on the industrial estate on the A57 in Worksop next to Sainsburys and Mc D’s and with it being early I think I can park on the first street with the dead end across from Sainsburys.
As I’m driving around I notice a Scania artic is parked at the end of the riad and then there is a gap between him and a Jenkinson truck but it isn’t big enough to get an artic between. I go down to the bottom and spin around and pull up at the side of the Jenkinsons truck and ask him if he’s staying the night as his lights were still on and it looked like he was doing paperwork. He said he was so I said to him, " you mind pulling up behind that other truck so I can get behind you pal?"
Also thinking that how he was parked he was taking up 2 spaces with one truck. His reply?? " well I was here first" :unamused: ■■■■ me I didn’t know they handed out HGV licences to children. I said to him, " why park like a ■■■■ then? You’re taking up 2 spaces parked like this it doesn’t take much use of your brain to work that out!" He came back with the usuall moaning and, " ■■■■■■■ hell" I just replied ," you ■■■■■■■ brain dead or what?"
Where has the using you’re initiative and thinking about other drivers gone? When I park up I think if how I’m parked could stop someone else parking either next to me, in front or behind and maybe someone who is short on hours.
If he was the first on the street then why did he park halfway down it instead of pulling up at the end of the road so others who arrived after could pull in behind? What’s the saying? Oh ar there’s drivers and then there’s screwdrivers

Be safe in the knowledge that I’m always thinking about the amount of space I leave for others. Nothing is worse than finding someone parked in the space that two trucks can park in.

Not so long ago I was parked in a lay by not a lot of room due to cars parking in it all day I was in a ridged at the time an arctic pulls in front of me there was not a lot of room I did go back as far as I thought was safe as not to hit the car behind me although I did have the curtains closed I did have light on & seen his headlights just made it a little easier for him was easy

O/P…Just another example of the ‘‘I’m alright so ■■■■ you’’ philosophy among some ‘‘drivers’’ today.
I am like you and try and leave space for others when o/n parking, it’s what we all done once over as well as other driver’s practices recently discussed on here.
If there are double yellows on an ind est for instance, I put my back doors or front bumper almost above them.
I don’t overnight in lay bys, but if I have a 45 in an empty on enter one, I either go right to front or reverse right up to rear.
It’s all about consideration to other drivers.

btw. Did the Jenkinson move for you?
If not you should have backed up to his windscreen and hope a 4 wheeler would park behind him and block the 2at in.

Yeah he moved Robroy through gritted teeth and no doubt giving me a gobfull to his mate who was on the phone. Proved my point when 5 mins after he moved and I moved up another artic pulls into the street and gets behind me. If " I’m alright Jack" didn’t shift other lad wouldn’t have been able to park and it does get busy on this estate if any of you know it?

Watch out in morning, a lot of those Jenky idiots start around 2 am for no extra cash :unamused: So you can bet he will sure as hell rev the ■■■■■■■■ of his motor to get his own back, if he is as childish as you say. :unamused:

that’s what annoys me they [cars] have every right to use a lay by but they can park their little motors virtually anywhere, yet they choose lay bys and take up space we hgv drivers need for our breaks, although having said that some have actually moved to let me park

Most of these cars were parked there all day get picked up by another car & then into work share the parking cost ( this lay by not there any more was on the A59 just off the A1M )

And only around 15mins from the Stockyard :unamused:

Dont be silly, none of us would work for a company that didnt pay for their vehicle to be parked fairly securely. This crap stopped mid 90’s…
The op must be an owner driver, or weird.

I was heading North that day after a very long day due to a breakdown ( prop shaft dropped off ) & was out of time & if I went to stockyard I would have had to head in wrong direction as came off the M62 from Hull so not that simple

You should know some facts before posting & I shouldn’t have to explain myself

If I want to park in lay by or on ind set I can it is my right I do sometimes use truckstops but not always

Think he was talking to sbt

Hope you got the night out money Steve?

Says it all really have you seen how they drive?
So wouldn’t expect them to park with any consideration for anyone.
Idiots!

Correct.
It’s even possible to clip several minutes off the time by running through the back woods.

On the subject of the stockyard, or should I say the area nearby, why do drivers insist on parking trucks on the short section of dual carriageway between M18/J1 and the roundabout into the industrial est where the stockyard is, just so they can go into the garage for snacks/newspaper/■■■■. As it blocks 1 lane causing disruption. Not to mention that section is signed as an urban clearway. 3 drivers in the last couple of days have taken it upon themselve to stop & shop at the garage. Only to get noticed by the cops, hopefully they didn’t get a ticket. But they did get several toots on the horn and coffee bean shakes from passing motorists for causing a jam

Idiots!

Maybe that’s because they have been convinced that they are on a percentage of their trucks earnings, and believe it.
Just for reasons of potential comeback, they maybe are, but if I drove for them I wouldn’t personally believe it,…but that’s just me.
Incentive money = erratic inconsiderate driving :bulb:

They are on 22% of truck earnings. There is also another company in scotland pays 20% and drive like idiots.

I would have thought that a co (who ever that may be) that claimed to pay earning percentage, and had one driver who believed it, so went like a demented idiot . :unamused:
Also had another driver who did not believe it, so tried a months experiment and backed right off for a month, and found that his and the idiot’s were only a few quid difference, may have gone a long way to show it was no more than a ploy to get drivers to go on a tearsarsing fest every month.
Make up your own mind.
That’s all I am saying and not meaning any particular company.
