Agreed 100% mate
As England is one of the most diverse nations in the world our choice is only limited by the imagination of the chef.
I do have a taste for noodles at the moment though, perhaps the taste / mixture of foreign cuisine from our coloured cousins has spoiled us a bit but give me a nice Korma, Curry over fish and chips anyday.
Didn’t we invent the balti.
Thats said I do like a nice McDonalds double sausage & egg muffin.
Héraultais:
Can’t beat a good Sunday Roast.
Well, whilst I like a sunday roast, I can think of several meals that are as good.
Might I suggest for starters
Foie Gras with confit de figues washed down with a Muscat de St Jean de Minervois
followed by
Magret de Canard (saignant) and cherry sauce with ratatouille and potato dauphinoise accompanied by a strong minervois red
and finish with
a delicious tarte tatin and a drop (or two) of Carthagene
mouth is now watering just thinking about it.
I’ll stick with
Chateaubriand fillet steak and a whole lobster and a Provence Rose.Strawberries and cream.Remy Martin.
Or plateful of rib eye roast beef.Side plates of yorkshire pudding, horseradish, sprouts and asparagus and a nice 14% Chateau Neuf.Followed by apple pie made with red eating apples, cream and custard finished off with single malt Glennfiddich.
Schnitzel sauerkraut and chips and a litre of Hofbrau.Apple Strudel and another litre of Hofbrau.

OMG, CF you won’t believe this but my missus and I where just trying to remember the dish we shared at the Mill at Alveley and this is it. She remembers it because it was fantastic, I remember it due to rude relations afterwards. Cheers mate I owe you a leg over…

Food in India is downright woeful and pretty dicey in my experience unless eating in top hotels. Even then, risky. You have to go to the UK for a decent “Indian”. Non of this tourist hero rubbish, just because they invented it doesn’t mean it’s the best version.
When I come back home I like buying ingredients that grow/reared here. I try to have a bash at buying seasonal things rather than out of season. I love proper Lincolnshire sausages. I recently tried Samphire from Norfolk which was unusual. There’s so much good stuff available in the UK but, as said, it’s the bad cooking you get at the roadside and poor ingredients that come from processing houses. Where I live in NI there’s some of the best seafood places to eat outside of Cornwall. If ever over, head to Jamaica Inn on the coast near Bangor or my local, the ruddy duck fish and chip shop (owned by nearby dirty duck pub-good place). Sit in Friday night, fish and tea, or maybe fish curry or even a seafood chowder at lunch with a steaming brew. Brilliant.
