On Msa’s it is burgers and chips or fried chicken outlets.Or fisn and chips in any town.
Compare the food with India’s using herbs and spices.
Mexico with Burritos and Tacos.
Thai and Chinese food.
Turkish food, but by far the best is North African food with Tangines and Cous Cous with Houmus.
English diet is bland and boring.Stodgy and bad for you.
These days you can eat pretty much whatever you fancy. If you want unhealthy choices there are plenty available but it doesn’t have to be like that. I’ve not had fish & chips for years, or Indian food, too oily. This week had a lovely shepherds pie & veg , an excellent carvery, a chicken salad & a nice pasta meal.
But at Cobham and Beaconsfield they have roast pork, turkey and beef.My one is the pulled pork.Meal deal is good value for about a fiver or more.Cubed roast potatoes and a drink.
Fills you up all day.
Then there is the new noodle outlets.
Truckstop food has improved a lot.
The Hollies new menu is very good.
Waltham Abbey the same.
Truckers Rest at Cannock.
I had a great bbq ribs.Friendly staff.
You can not beat a fry up for breakfast but not every day of the week.
I never eat in layby vans.If there is no loo there, how does the chef use a loo.
got a full indian tonight
I like “English food” I also like foreign food aswell but I’m told they alter the taste to suit the British. If you get a chicken curry in India it will taste nothing like a chicken curry from a Indian restaurant based in the uk. Just what I’ve been told.
Need to be careful with foreign grub, nothing worse than the ■■■■■ and a night sat on the toilet pan
French Routiers is a fixed price menu of about five courses.
Spain is menu of the day.Grilled fish.Meats cooked in a real fire or clay oven at a truckstop or hotel.
They allow trucks to park in hotels.
Nimby UK.
Can’t have nasty lorries scaring off the middle classes.
Little Chef UK.No lorry signs.
It is all a matter of taste.Fillet steak and lobster is arguably bland if anyone prefers cheap lamb or offal covered in hot overpowering spices to mask the zb taste.
In general to my taste English food like steak and chips, fish and chips or fried chicken and chips beats all the spicy foreign zb.Which in general applies to those foreign countries themselves assuming they’ve got the money to eat decent non spiced top grade cuts and decent fish type menus.
IE you can bet that the average Chinese billionaire won’t order spiced dog or fried insects and noodles if steak and lobster is also on the menu.

Never known anyone who has been to India and didn’t get Dehli belly, so I’d hardly call it the best food ever.
If i was going to call england for anything it wouldnt be for snap, you can get anything you want here ,look how many breed of people we cater for,i think toby must be bored or hes showing off that he does the continent
Morrocan food is the best. You can eat sheep or goats eyes or brains.
You can choose to eat rubbish food anywhere in the world, or you can CHOOSE to be more discerning. No one is forcing saturated fat down your throat, and the English menu today has plenty of healthy choices. Yes some of them may be a bit bland, or maybe it’s because you have burnt your taste buds away with lots of ridiculously hot and spicy food. Personally I like to see the cut of meat or fish i’m eating, and not just cross my fingers and pray that i’m not eating the local cats, hidden in a sauce of scotch bonnet chilies.
Can’t beat a good Sunday Roast.
Well, at motorway service stations the choice has gone down; the level of fast food has gone up and proper meals have gone away. Welcome Break used to have a restaurant called the Granary and I used to live their Ploughman’s lunch but nowadays it’s all McD’s and KFC. And no station has halal food (important for me) even where there are big Muslim populations just off the motorway (e.g. the M1 & M6).
You dont get the choice we do in any other country, sunday roast are far the best meal in the world, you cant argue with that

I miss that soooo much, and of course the good old British banger, (sausage )
I only eat at the side of the road in France, they know how to do food.
English food is OK if you make it yourself, unfortunately the English are only interested in money, this brings everything in life down to a certain level… The UK is probably one of the worst countries in the world for food, service, politeness.
Can’t beat a good Sunday Roast.
Well, whilst I like a sunday roast, I can think of several meals that are as good.
Might I suggest for starters
Foie Gras with confit de figues washed down with a Muscat de St Jean de Minervois
followed by
Magret de Canard (saignant) and cherry sauce with ratatouille and potato dauphinoise accompanied by a strong minervois red
and finish with
a delicious tarte tatin and a drop (or two) of Carthagene
mouth is now watering just thinking about it.
