Why drive like this

It ought to have a PS at the bottom.

PS, it might seem impossible to imagine, but yes, it really could be worse, labour might re-elect Blair as God. :open_mouth:

You cynical old codger, but you’re not wrong. I’ve obviously not been around as long as your good self, but in my years with successive governments, the working mans/womans freedoms, liberties, rights etc. have been eroded and diminished with each in turn…

if he even try to udertake me knowing that im faster anyway i would push him right to hard shoulder inch away from his mirror i dont give a ā– ā– ā– ā–  anymore i do this all the time.i love to suprise drivers who are on the phone too.i never wait to be flashed in but the can do after if they want happy days.no respect for reckless driving.

The irony is strong in this one Obiwan…

5 out of 10 for trolling bud, poor effort, I mean…we have experts on here.
But don’t let me put you off…Keep the faith. :sunglasses:

The ones I find that are strange are those that wait ages at my back doors before overtaking. I can only do 52 so nearly everything overtakes me yet these clowns must think that by being so close that they will almost push me to go faster. Once its dawned on them that this isn’t happening then they overtake. Normally cutting in so close.

I will sit behind someone for a while to assess the best time to overtake. I dont like long overtakes so I am quite happy to wait for a downhill advantage rather than draw it out on the flat or have to abort going uphill

I was s/b on the A1M last Monday approaching Weatherby msa, had some guy closing up on my arse end, then tucked in behind me.
I thought he was obviously intending to pull into the msa, then at the half mile marker he pulled out and went for the overtake, so I thought, he must be going straight on. He struggled past me, and we had passed the 100 metre marker and he was not clear enough for me to flash him in, he pulled across the front of me and up the slip to the msa! He must have been bosting for a ā– ā– ā– ā–  maybe?

Is this your work mug Juddian? :open_mouth:

It’s a good job my dyslexia isn’t as bad as it was, I had to re-read that

Mike can you edit your quote and add e] to fix it

Industry should be fighting to get rid of limiters. They serve no purpose what so ever other than to cause problems like this for everyone on a daily basis.

What? …Some of the d/heads driving trucks today that we all have to endure, going 80ish, or off the clock downhill? :open_mouth: …No thanks bud, they are bad enough at 56 (and that’s me who remembers pre limiter days, but a different breed of drivers)

I’m a bit concerned there’s a crop of drivers who couldn’t cope unlimited. Just because you can do 70+ don’t mean you have to.

Probably best they role it out to drivers who have experience at higher speeds and anyone who has gained their HGV entitlement in post limiter days has to do another test.

Then again pre limiter days I was a total nutter and our problem back then was cars tootling along at 65mph getting in the way.
56mph was a speed to slow down to if one had the kettle on or was rolling a tab.

No need for a re.test Dave, I reckon if you can hold on to an Atki non pas, going downhill at Shap at 70+mph (having to stand up at the wheel) feeling like some kind of a rodeo rider on a bull’s back, you can handle any of today’s ā€˜lady’s motors’ :sunglasses:
See how young and slim I looked in 1982 :sunglasses:

You look like a German ā– ā– ā– ā–  star there ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  master.

I have an erection…

Dipper_Dave:
I have an erection…

Did I cause it? :open_mouth:
I feel soiled !

Yes and I feel exactly the same, but in a good way.

They didn’t even have paved roads in 1982.

Ah, I remember being promoted into a ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  Borderer with no PAS from a Gardener powered one with PAS. And a 10 speed RoadRanger instead of the David Brown 6 speed plus two speed axle. No need to go outside the cab to do the oil dip, just like a modern truck really…

Bloody hell Rob you scared me to death with that photo. Looks just like me back then, same hair, same moustache and same build.
Or did we all look like that then?
