Why do people dislike them?
Can’t work it out myself. Nice lorries, a fair weekly gross wage, excellent training and willingness to take on new drivers.
Fair enough the programme on television tries to add a little tension to the most mundane everyday situations, but can’t understand all the dislike.
Been offered an assessment there myself in the next few days, though I have decided to take another position. I would have been very pleased to be a Stobart driver.
For the same reason my dog spends most of the day with his tongue on his nuts…

Stobart -very good company.Stobart drivers have about 400-450 per week.basic pay about 7.20-7.80p/h.but pay some fuel bonus ,pay night shift.to many waiting time.AVERAGE ABOUT 25K PER YEARS .if you not happy about Stobart.CAN YOU SAID WHICH COMPANY PAID MUCH MORE FOR DRIVERS IN PRESENT TIME■■?

We don’t, Stobart drivers are just taught to be paranoid at the induction.

I’ve just read on the Motor Transport blog that apparently “fast eddie” is looking to INCREASE,yes INCREASE, some of their rates due to cost pressures,well this must be a first as they’ve spent the last 30 odd years cutting them !!!Wonders will never cease !! Bewick.

With all respect Bewick, every, yes every haulage company has under cut every other company to get that lucrative contract. Owner drivers have done it also for years, it’s just the way of the world.
Lets face it Bewicks did it when getting the paper mill work from people like AA Griggs and alike, as they did to others also.
Stobarts did some good by smart ending up the rather poor image of haulage but took it a bit too far in the end with uniform etc.

I havnt got any issues with them, its not a company that i’d choose to work for but doesnt mean to say i dislike them.
I know most drivers dont really like the program (despite seeming to watch it anyway) but it really does help improve our image, my girlfriend watchs it all the time and loves it, i know they dramatise it but if they didnt if would be a rather dull program and just to add its clearly not aimed at lorry drivers so it stands to reason that most of us wont like it.

Never watched the program and never will, most fly on the wall progs turn into docu soaps.
I dislike companies whos staff end up working excessive hours for an industry average gross wage, as high profile as they are they should (my opinion only i speak for no one else) salary their drivers as others have done at a decent level and allow their staff to have a true 48 hour week, thereby giving them a work life balance.
