I noticed recently that some of the staff on the sites are delivered to are rude for no reason. I made a mistake today and basically ended up queuing in the wrong place for about 3 hours and when it was finally my turn the guy started shouting at me calling me idiot etc. I asked what is the reason for this? I’ve been nothing but nice to him and there’s no reason for him to be a C***. Do these people really think they can’t get dropped because they’re at work?
Do you guys have similar experiences?
Have a lovely day
You shoulda…
Leaned out the window, smiled and told him you’ve just made another £45 by waiting there.
But yes, you’re right, why should we be spoken to like we’re dog ■■■?
I find this kind of behaviour is becoming more and more common
I’m past responding in kind to these ignorant gobshines, I simply take any offensive/aggressive behaviour as a refusal of the delivery and drive off taking the load back to the yard.
I’m under instructions to avoid confrontations and stress could set me AF off with my heartbeat racing

I don’t even know how much I made by sleeping to be honest, but I could be home by now Last collection and then an hour drive. Fingers crossed it won’t be long

I find it more and more common also. Even though I just started driving last November. But anyway 90% of the people I interact with are nice it’s just that other 10% who are behaving like they own the place [emoji23]

It’s easy to say just smile, but I can snap just as easily you know [emoji23]

snapping just add’s fuel to the fire mate smiling just winds them up… and trust me i know as when i first came into the industry i had a tolerance level of -10 but soon learnt how to manage these dicks…
Probably like an awful lot of people. Fed up and hate the job but just have to keep doing it to pay the bills, and this ends up with situations like that.

This!
It always says far more about them than it does about you.
Just to play Devils advocate here (sorry Franglais, I beat you to it ) have you ever seen how a high percentage of drivers grunt and growl at staff? If I was doing a shift dealing with Neanderthals I’d probably end up treating them the same. Not saying it’s right, but it’s a vicious circle where bad manners beget bad manners.
Somebody on here posted an excellent reply to such clowns, it goes "just remember I come here every now and again, you have to come here every day.
And my all time favourite when challenged with the usual “you should have been here 2 hours ago” my reply “why what happened”

Bloody drivers! Don’t get me started on bloody drivers
In truth I’ve only fallen out with one driver in all the years I’ve been doing it. He’s a particularly loathsome creature who drives for the Scottish company Browns. I’ve asked some of his colleagues about him and to a man they all have nothing but contempt for him and they list the companies he’s been banned off site at.
I don’t accept people talking down to me or being rude for no reason other than just doing my job. I find that accepting it and saying nothing doesnt help matters. If anyone continues to still act like a pratt after I have been diplomatic and friendly towards their attitude. I find a quick punch to the throat quite a calming action to take and usually does the trick and makes them see sense. Manners cost nothing and neither does respect for others.
the reason i asked was i done some night shunting for the orange parcel machine and i have to agree, my opinion of drivers in general changed ,the biggest bunch of whinging ,moaning tossers i have ever met…

enlighten us y/t ,how many people have you punched in the throat at delivery points…
If I were still driving a cheap body-cam off E-Bay prominently fixed to my chest, making sure it was plainly visible, If someone kicks off just gesture towards it and wink.
