I am sorry but if the bulgarians or the romanians wanted to come over here they would of already done so. This is scaremungering on an epic scale from the papers. My other half is bulgarian and i travel over there every year and talk to people out there. What you have to remember is that more people live on London than the whole current population of bulgaria.
People that wanted to make a better life have already up sticks they went to the states and other eu countries that did not put any restrictions on them when they joined the eu.
When romanian first joined we saw an infux of them they didn’t stay long and soon went home and that was the dishonest ones. If people want a better life there are better countries out there for them to go to and britian ain’t high on list
Those who knew how to work the system have indeed already found their way over here. However there is still an overall limit in place restricting those who don’t know how to or may just be unable to work a flanker. Come Jan 2014 when they become full members there will no longer be any restrictions on numbers. Both countries are poor in comparison with the UK with low wages, low standard of living, lower benefits and higher unemployment. If I was a struggling Bulgar or Roma I’d be over here and sending cash back home too! They’re not only going to be creating yet more competition for jobs/wages/housing/nhs etc but a proportion of what they earn WON’T BE SPENT IN THIS COUNTRY which hardly helps businesses here…

Well at least there were Polish pilots fighting in the Battle of Britain so they’re ok in my book but they have taken all the manual labour jobs available which was fine as there weren’t enough English to fill the posts but there are simply none of these jobs left now so any new influx will just drive wages down.I appreciate the bigger picture that one day when these countries are wealthier they will buy imports from Britain and Europe will eventually become a more significant world player but it needs to be slowed, make changes to take in to account the change in economic outlook!
I’m all for staying in the eu really, just chill the immigration out for a while till the jobs are there again and it doesn’t impact the wage of nationals as much. I’m a 2nd generation immigrant myself so appreciate the need to better ones lot by upping sticks but the land of milk & honey is starting to turn a bit sour now.
Australia and Canada, you can’t go there if a national can do the job you’re applying for…
Time to change course a bit, not throw a wobbler, just move the rudder some what.
And how did those Polish pilots get in Britain? Through Hungary, by the Hungarian government’s secret help… So the Hungarians (although they’ve been fighting together with the Wehrmacht till the last minute and beyond) should be fine as well…

Everyone seems to forget that it is because of Poland Britain entered the war. If Hitler had left them alone Britain would still have an empire, however many thousands of our population wouldn’t have died and we wouldn’t have had to had been in America’s back pocket for the last 60 years whilst we paid off our war debt.
Ok Dennis the Bulgos can come too.
Hungarians even…
Saamon will along soon to say how great they are and the english aren’t, never mind his mum and dad can employ them and then the farmer that employs him then see where his wage and job goes.
Accept what Gordon Brown said - and by default the Lib-Lab-Con says to this day - is that:
All UK jobs are ‘British jobs for European workers’.
That’s a fact - because to consider any British job otherwise is illegal under EU law and, like it or not is sneakily perpetuated by every vote for the Lib-Lab-Con by their tribal and too often brain-dead followers
Now how sick does your Dad …and his Dad …and his Dad (who likely died in a War) before him feel

In most cases the ‘empire’ was more of a liability than it was worth. There was no reason as to why we should have given Oz,New Zealand, and Canada their independence which were the main places which mattered and which we could/should have kept as British colonies regardless of the two world wars. However it’s obvious that the so called ‘commonwealth’ just became a rigged cheap labour scam in which British workers were unable to emigrate to those colonies as easily as ‘commonwealth’ workers were allowed to emigrate here.No surprise jut like our membership of the EU has turned into.
But it’s unlikely that Germany would have left us alone if we’d have declared ourselves neutral instead of getting involved in WW2.

You wanna say, Sir Oscar Mosley was right??..

To move to Belgium you must first have work…
I don’t think you are right… There is a freedom of movement in EU…
You will not be able to claim dole or any other money until you’ve worked a specific amount of time… Unless you’re an asylum seeker

Look, it’s JUST like in Britain - you have to work here for 24 months to be able to claim dole

So you’re saying that an East European family can’t arrive here looking for work and claim income support and housing benefit and be better off than they are at home .Don’t see anything in the rules which would stop that.

When my mrs came over she had to take out private medical insurance before they would even consider her for her permite to enable freely work in the uk. She could only be self employed then until she had met all the requirements and was not able to claim any money

Yes Orys there Is free movement within Europe, but the system here makes It difficult…
Firstly you’d need to have a ’ Foreign workers residense card’ ( this Is given to all non- Belgians who want to come & live here. This card also allows you to reside here), but to get one of these you’d need an address… To be able to live anywhere here you’d need money for rent… To get the money you’d need a job… Can’t get a job unless you’ve got a Foreign workers residense card etc, etc…, but there Is an easier way… For example, A Polish driver works for a Belgian company while he’s still living In Poland (yes It Is possible to work for A Belgian company while living elsewhere In Europe)…
He then decides to move here, no problem because he’s already In the system, because he’s working for a Belgian company… Housing would not be a problem, because he’s working here & would be able to show wage slips to future landlords, thus giving him an address for a workers residence card…
Cannot claim any benefits here for the first 2 years…
It’s a bit long winded,but I hope It makes sense…

Exactly what .Don’t see anything there which says that immigrants from an EU country intending to live and work here on a permanent basis aren’t eligible for income support based benefits before working here for at least 2 years. The way I read it they’re entitled to the same benfits as anyone else here subject to the usual conditions.
