Just because you have been in the forces makes no difference. I know many who are in the forces and some are most definitely racist. I didn’t read what you posted, however if the mods deemed it a racist post you may need to reconsider what racism actually means.
The economy is doing o.k. in Australia,a young keen driver could find work down there,one of my friends has done just that.In Canada there is a bus and coach firm called TRAXX who are actively looking to recruit British drivers.Any of our bods going to those countries would be contributing to the new host country and not a drain on resources.I.M.H.O.this country is over subscribed and we should be closing the border for a time.

Just to return to the main thread, I have to agree with Rikki about this newspaper, scaremongering
I live in France, my family live in France, but I work here in England. I pay tax and NI, but CANNOT claim child benefit for my 3 children back in France.
As I paid into the system, I thought to enquire to find out what I was entitled to. All I can get is Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and nothing else, so I don’t see how these Bulg’s or Rom’s will be getting Child Support for their children, back in their country of origin.
May I add, only my son was born here in England, both my daughters were born in France, I only get Child Tax Credit for him, not for the girls.

is that all the drivers they cant get to do the job? as there always seems to be oppotunity to work abroard imo.
where as it seems over here people cant find the work?
being 28 it worries me what the future is going to be like here esp for younger drivers.

B U L L [zb]. They should be called “Daily Fail”. I’m a foreigner myself. I’ve got an 8 years old kid, all the benefits I receive is the child benefit, about 80 quid/month. They check the kid regularly, I have to confirm, the kid is here, visiting the school, registred at the GP, etc. They also call the school to double check it. I do not think, anybody can claim benefits, whose kid is not in the UK.

Well at least there were Polish pilots fighting in the Battle of Britain so they’re ok in my book but they have taken all the manual labour jobs available which was fine as there weren’t enough English to fill the posts but there are simply none of these jobs left now so any new influx will just drive wages down.
I appreciate the bigger picture that one day when these countries are wealthier they will buy imports from Britain and Europe will eventually become a more significant world player but it needs to be slowed, make changes to take in to account the change in economic outlook!
I’m all for staying in the eu really, just chill the immigration out for a while till the jobs are there again and it doesn’t impact the wage of nationals as much. I’m a 2nd generation immigrant myself so appreciate the need to better ones lot by upping sticks but the land of milk & honey is starting to turn a bit sour now.
Australia and Canada, you can’t go there if a national can do the job you’re applying for…
Time to change course a bit, not throw a wobbler, just move the rudder some what.
