Same as me, mate; Busy all last week, not turned a wheel all this week. Lovely little job, but that wont pay the mortgage so I rang the place where I used to be a trainee plant operator. They’re sending me a form but they shut for Christmas from tonight to Jan 2nd so it’ll be an uneasy Chrimbo methinks.
good luck with it,as a old mate o mine once said “never look back! only onwards and upwards”… fortunately i no longer have a mortgage (nor the big house and wife come to that) so i work to pay for the fast car and slow wimmen

My christmas shifts are on railway maintainance. The site I’m on has a posession of the line from 01.00 on christmas day till 06.00 on the 27th. The truck driving part will only be about 30 mins on xmas eve and 30 mins on 27th, the rest is operating the access boom for the 12 hrs shifts
Readypower?
Lol used to just put em on track, give the m/c phone number n ‘adopt the position’ in van,big pillow against window for 11 hr 50 mins!
I’m on earlies (6-2) Christmas eve, Christmas day, & Boxing day, so if any of you breakdown on the NW motorways, call in on the SOS box and I’ll personally sort things out for you!
I might even send Highwayman with the mince pies.
Working christmas eve till 20:00 got the 25/26 off then working upto 20:00 new years eve then just new years day off.
Shame no one ever wants a coach on the 25/26

No, SRS Rail.
We have lorry mounted access platforms and booms. With a bit of luck the linesmen will have their operators ticket and I’ll be adopting the position in the cab
Currently halfway through my 4 nights off. Back to work 8pm Christmas Day, double pay until midnight Boxing day, which is better than last year, when it was double pay until midnight Christmas Day apparently.
