Who's up for this job?

Delivering specialised equipment to various venues, throughout Australia. Maximum weight averages about ten tonne. No load interaction required, in fact it’s strictly forbidden. Stage hands are easy to replace, if they get hurt, but there’s only one truckie.
Free entry to big name bands and artists. Remuneration about 175% of well paid interstate drivers, plus expenses. No need for hi-vis or PPE.

I would. But it’s in Australia…

If it’s tramping I could.

I could fly out Sunday, then fly home saturday.

Sorry, won’t work, many concerts are on weekends.

Ok, well tell the boss thanks but no thanks. I don’t like Volvos anyway.

Nor do I, but they’re the best of the Europeans. This one is ten years old and about to be replaced.

What a belting job that is.

Karnivool this past weekend.

Im sure many here would refuse that job on principle. Should go to an Aussie, and if no takers the rate should be increased until one is found. Dont get cheap “economic migrants” in from the UK!

As it say’s aggreco on the headboard so presume it’s a power gen set in the back. I’ve done this work and there is always a tech person responsible for the unit so just a steady driving job.
A great job - A week to Lisbon, a week on site, a week back.

If I were single I’d jump at that job. Much better than the Formula 1 gig where you do the driving then end up as a low paid lackey and I’m convinced that the hours you end up doing because of all the non-driving duties mean you’re well exceeding tacho limits, not taking sufficient rest.

Obviously no use to you you’ll be moaning about the drivers aren’t labourers policy and the 6x4 unit before you even get a start.

Ironically the Australian minimum wage is more than £12 per hour based on 38 hours per week.Dont know any EU states that match that especially East Euro ones which are lower than us.
Spectacular own goal by you.

Sign me up!

Unlike doctors and nurses, truck driving won’t get you enough points to get into Australia.

No thanks, Australia is going down the toilet, too many politicians are in the pockets of the Chinese

Sixties boy:

As opposed to when it was free movement between us and Australia also think Canada too but not Romania or Bulgaria.
But that’s racist.
Also remember being told that Great Aunt and Great Uncle by marriage and 2nd cousins isn’t close enough to play the family card to get in there but Chinese and Indians etc seemingly no problem in that regard.

No, just sound equipment.

Nah, unlike some, I take the good with the bad. Did a quick Sydney for the weekend concert, paid before I got home.

That rate is for burger flippers, retail etc. Drivers get $30~$40 an hour. That’s for the first 7hr 38min, Monday ~ Friday. Any time beyond 7:38 is overtime at 125% for the first 2hrs then 150%. Penalties apply for all hours outside Monday ~ Friday 5:00a.m.~ 8p.m.
Minor variances occur yard to yard/sector to sector. Casual and agency/labour hire get the same rate as the yard pays, plus 25% but accumulate no paid holidays. Tax-free allowances may apply. Clothing and PPE usually supplied.
Interstate drivers generally get paid under a different scheme, $/km plus hourly rate un/loading plus tax-free allowances. Interstaters will generally earn 150~200% of a round town clown.
