Zero. only ever had 3 points since I got my licence in 1977, and they weren’t for speeding.
Spoke too soon, now got two in Germany for two seperate instances of speeding.

can I borrow that bit of wood after you
this has got to be tempting fate
No points either & never had any
mainly by luck I expect
Squeaky Clean…23 years and nothing.
i got 3 in sept o2 doing 56MPH in a wagon and drag at 2am on the A303 at chilworth and 3 in june 03 for getting in the way of a speeding motorbike. i pulled out of a car park, he came shooting round a corner and wrote my car off. i couldnt prove he was speeding so i got a CD10 plus i had to buy a new car
got 4 at the moment, speeding in Truro (■■■■ day on the buses on a sunday, forgot that I wasn’t limited and put my foot down) Got caught by the camera by the football club.
The nip was lost in the post, the first I heard was the court summons, hence 4 points
Their 3 years is up on Friday, although they stay there for another year
Am fighting another S-camera nip at the moment.
Before the self rightious brigade come on and say “pay the fine and take the points” the only reason I’m arguing is to buy myself some time, I’ve had 3 days work in nearly 4 weeks through the agency and do not physically have the £60 to spare at the moment and they won’t except installments at this stage, so it looks like court and increased points
mines clean and has been since i passed my bike test in 81
even though i use the A68 regular with the 25 cash machines on it, but i do know where they all are
0 points as of yet. I’m crossing my fingers at the moment though. I only drive a van, but I often have the thought of ‘How fast was I going through that camera?’ and then ■■■■ myself when I go past in the following day and realise the camera had a darn flash in it! I don’t see too many mobiles on my travels, but I keep to the limits
…
just in case
Karl.
i knew somebody had 14 points on his was due to get more
he managed to get another lic from one of the islands ( iwant to think it was the isle of man but it don’t sound right )
mine clean at mo but got flashed at this week on a12 ( at end of last flyover before a406) but dont know if it was me or the boyracer who shot across all the lanes to get onto the 406
Tempting Fate
Clean, Zilch , Zero, since 1979 when I got 6 points within 2 weeks from the procurator fiscal in Dumfries
Im trying to keep it that way
None…ever
If you don’t like the speed limit…don’t drive.
But why do so many truckers (and car drivers) insist on speeding through road works?

More to the point…Why do car drivers insist on doing 30/35 through roadworks clearly marked up at 40
AND THEY STILL SLOW DOWN FOR THE CAMERAS
I’ve not had points on my licence for a good few years now and I don’t really want to get any so I keep within the law to the best of my abilities if you must speed because of your job get out as the boss will not back you when you caught and as they keep telling you speed kills
Its not speed that kills, Its the sudden stop at the end of it
clean licence since 89, but don’t you find when driving your car, within the speed limits there’s allways someone driving in your boot behind, trying to push you to go faster?
nope none ever.
So the upshot of this post reading through the comments is that the points system works. The majority of replies here say something along the lines of
“got cought a couple of times then slowed down…”
There is of course the odd whinge from a couple saying how, unfair it was they were caught, doesnt apply to bike, camera was hidden etc etc
and my favourite
“just a lapse in concentration” wonder how many people say that same phrase when they’ve just run someone over?
ive got none on my driving licence did have 3 about 7 years back due to not enough tread on one tyre on a b reg old leyland 6 wheel tipper.it should have been 4 and a fine but i pleaded ignorence having just left the army. ive got 3 on my train licence and yes they do have staff out with a speed gun every now and again

Do you mean when you run over someone accidently or when it is someone on your list?

Yes, and it’s these ‘drivers’ that have a licence full of points and are the ones that complain the most about speed cameras.

Can’t say I do. But then I drive at around 90mph on motorways anyway. On my way to Edinburgh last Saturday I only had one motor come past me on the M6 and that was a kid in 1.2 Clio with approximately 2 tonnes of plastic bolted to the front, sides and rear of it as well as something closely resembling a drain pipe hanging underneath it; basically the motor had the aerodynamics of a house brick. Every time he got to the bottom of a gentle uphill incline he slowed down to approximately 50mph which was when I overtook him (again), much to his disgust… as I was driving a van.
