whoops 2

It is unfortunate for this chap it was Friday the thirteenth , he was trying to level his load on the access road outside the quarry at Mountsorrel Leicestershire when he noticed it leaning he try’d to let it down but it was too late , a lot of us have done it and luckily managed to get away with it .

Was that the one near silverstone? Didn’t the air ambulance land for that one?

No, that was this one. And yes.

Bloody hell Nick who was the Haulage firm :open_mouth:

Might be wrong but it looks like a D&J Transport trailer from the back. Hope the driver is ok!

Mount Sorrel, Leicestershire is not near Silverstone from what I remember ? The one on the A43 that you are referring to was much more serious as it close the road down all day and involved grain and not mineral as in this case … I live in NY and even I knew about that one.

Oh dear. Mind you i had a moment where my arse chewed the seat yesterday tipping up and the ground started sinking.
Thankfully the load moved and a quick pull away saved the day

If you read the whole thread the op stated he edited to include the details. When I commented it was just a picture. The reason I asked was because I only heard of one overturned tipper yesterday and wondered if this was the one on the 43

can someone explain how you would level a load with a tipper?

I’ve got a mate on Jenkinsons with a walking floor. He has to climb through the roof and use a broom and shovel

depending on what the load is it’s get inside via the top and shovel it over till it is level, some places have tipping frames where you go in between and tip the load out and re load correctly

I once loaded 20mm granite at Croft Quarry underneath a hopper. I wasn’t paying enough attention and the load came out faster than I was expecting. I pulled forward sharpish but the majority of the load was up front near the headboard.
This meant that the axle weights would be way out so its a case of finding a nice level and hard spot and then slowly start to raise the buck. Its a bit of a hit and miss guessing when to stop as you only want the load to slide down and level itself out.
Once I heard the load starting to shift I then quickly lowered the buck resulting in a nice even load!

The worst load out bins i used to load from were Cliffe Hill
It was a case of when the flashes MOVE as it load in around 30 seconds
