When i first got my truck i kept forgetting to put my seat belt on as it’s the first truck i’ve had with them fitted and required to be worn by law. Now it’s become second nature and like when i’m in my car i just automatically put it on, felt strange at first and i thought it might be uncomfortable, but it’s not and i’m used to it now. There’s nothing macho in not wearing one and i know quite a few drivers who will not wear a seatbelt whether they,re in a car, truck or whatever (more fool them imho). Isn’t the air bag connected to the seat belt somehow ie no seat belt no air bag protection?
Had a bad smash as a YOOF in the early 80
s...no belt....got away with just a couple of scars.......Belt goes on now and only comes off when I need to reverse or I get out ! Besides don
t want points on my now clean licence
Well i tell you what, i certainly had it on this afternoon on the M62 - absolutely ■■■■■■■ myself going over that flyover at Goole today, i slowed to 35mph and 4 times i thought i was gunna get blown over, scariest moment i had driving YET. I didn’t fancy a 90feet drop into 10feet of sludge

8am it was ok, all day i was fine in Hull, until i hit the 62 at Howden, then that was it, the dirt was blowing across carriageway too, it wasnt that scary a few weeks back with the proper gales.

And why would you get points for a non-endorsable offence? (Fixed penalty £30 up to a Level 2 fine of £500)
