Who tells the traffic commissioner?

Good evening everyone
When you have been a naughty boy who tells the traffic commissioner?
I had “that” chat three weeks ago:- Do you know the speed limit? Do you know how fast you were going? Can I see your licence? Anything you may say… Sign here please.
So, who tells the TC? Me? Transport Manager? No-one  ?
Cheers
Paul
(now sticking to the limits…)

For the record, it was a hand held laser gun, all calibrated and kosher, two plods on duty, just after midnight, 30mph limit, downhill and I was going too fast. Plod did let me see the device and aim it.
I did not stand a chance, I was going to get a ticket, sort of an easy money location for them. Well, it is Christmas!

For the record and for the benefit of the CSI, how fast?

The licence holder, i.e. you, is supposed to although no-one ever does.

what Harry is saying is? " ZIP YOUR LIPS! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing: "

Do you have send your licence to dvla within 28 days to have the points added or summat

If its a standard 60 quid 3 point turn out just crack on if its going at a stupid amount over the limit which would be a court apperance i think the police or dvla would inform them.
A mate got caught on the phone got 3 points and a fine but the cop said he wouldnt put down it was in a hgv and inform the tc as that usualy involves a visit to the commisioner and a tempoary suspension of your hgv.

I was a naughty boy years ago and got 3 points for running a red in a truck (now expired), i didn’t bother informing the TC, and honestly wouldn’t know how to…

Thanks guys
Keep it zipped seems the best option.
Including how much over…
All I will say is I won’t be offered a Speed Awareness course.
As I don’t drive LGV/PSV commercially, it’s not a major problem, but as for my insurance next time round, I am sure to get spanked by the company!
Cheers

I’m sure you’ll do this anyway Paul, but from bitter experience if they offer you three points and sixty quid pay up and smile.

I tried contesting one once and whilst the presiding magistrate was sympathetic it didn’t stop his oppo’s voting for six points and a two hundred quid fine.

I think the DVLA pass on any conviction to the TC

 I think you’ll find that it is £100 fine and 3 points mate, no speed awareness course due to the fact we are and I quote " professional drivers " and should be aware of speeding and it’s consequences . Let’s be honest we all speed in any given area sometimes our luck runs out whether it’s in a car bike or hgv , that’s life.

Are sp30’s notified to TC or is it just HGV specific offences?

Offences with cars, motorbikes, pushbikes, and even some non motoring related offences hav to reported to the tc for them to see if you are the proper and fit person to be holding a vocational licence

Hi.i were banned for 6mths bck in august for totting up.I never knew if I had to notify the tc So kept shtum.Anyway out the blue last week I recieved a letter from the tc saying I will automatically get my licence back end of February and wont have to see the tc for no further action because my points werent drink related or due to dangerous driving.
So im presuming they get told anyway soon as points go on licence because they had all my info of every offence/fine ive ever had.

PM sent.

OK, time to confess to the TNUK CSI Department.
Clocked at 58 in a 30 over a distance of 178 metres, time of the offence 23.55h. Calibrations checked of the gun at the time, even looked through it to see how it worked. There’s no escape from this one. Signed the form “no comment” and just waiting now.
I have no excuse, I was cracking on big time, enjoying the drive and looking forward to getting home after three weeks away.
So, let the criticism begin, but any sensible advice will be welcomed.
Cheers
