I have one interview lined up, and the possibility of another. Culina and Downtons. Now, on the off chance I am offered both, which one would you take? Just interested in opinions
One is 45 mins commute each way, the other 30.

Personally if take the one that pays the highest basic rate , then look at overtime rates etc

There is an o/t rate down here with Downtons…but same rate for weekends

Nozza, Raunds mate, they hadn’t got my application so sent it again and got to ring them again tomorrow. Possible an interview.

Wot? So you get to go home an hour early on friday night, when you’re too stuck in traffic to make it back on time?
Is the overtime rate less than even 1.0x as well?

I was meaning overtime Monday to Friday up north it was £8.50 straight through £10.50 on Saturdays £19 overnight and £5 a day meal allowance.
Nozza are you one of the ex c&h lads?? They were on a fair bit more than the other drivers I think.
It’s the hour a day taken off you that grates with me.

Salaried for 48 hrs a week, o/t only on days off as you’re salaried through the week, I’m guessing it’ll be Mon to Fri as it’s an ambient depot, not sure about shift lengths as it’s a different depot but probably wouldn’t be pushed hard, ours are roughly 10 hrs but obviously get good and bad days but won’t be planned for 12 + hr day.
New units every 3 yrs or less either Actros or Volvo, Culina do run dead straight but just do it their way and keep your head you’ll get left alone.

I know it was only recently put up to £8.50 from £8 due to drivers leaving…
They are a lot of vacancies up north and Dunstable but that place has always had a fair old turn over of drivers.
My mate has just left and is on less money at his new place but says he couldn’t cope with the job anymore and he is not a shirker.

I did stop but they are many that didn’t…and that’s where the issues are with it,if some do it they push others to do it.
