Which firms do you have an irrational hatred of?

Number 1 for me is Jack (you’re following one of the best :unamused: ) Richards. Every Friday after work I’m stuck behind one pottering along between Corby and Stoke (a6003, a606, a6006, a50). For pity’s sake just use the M6 until you learn how to drive a lorry. :unamused:

If you know he’s there every friday why don’t you take the alternative route ■■?

TNT, Hermes, mark thompson, fedex. But it’s not irrational it’s because they all drive like bell ends

Any firm that has a job & knock culture, or pays by the shift instead of by the hour.

Contract says 8-9.5 hours, but in practice get worked 10-15 hours… IF it is for a salary with no overtime. If there is overtime after 9 hours, then every shift will be 9-9.5 hours, with overtime “less than 50 mins after the break taken off” - not being paid. “Happy Hour” I call it - When you work from hour 8 to hour 9 - for no extra money over a flat 8 hour shift.

It gets up my nose the way other artic drivers undertake me on roundabouts not because I’m moving slowly, mind…!
I can only assume they are in a hurry, because they don’t want to be spending a night out… :unamused: :unamused:

None.

All my hatreds have a sound, rational basis.

None. I’m really not arsed about what others get up to.

Always somebody who thinks speed limits are a minimum not a maximum to travel at.
Corby to Stoke seems a long way to be stuck behind any vehicle not just Jack Richards, perhaps you should change your route or your car if its that clapped out you can`t get passed him in that distance

Could it be that he/she is driving to the speed limit and that doesn’t suit you, a lot of truck drivers have that problem. Alternatively you could use the M6.

Because you can’t keep up you mean.

Your run home on a Friday should be a lot better now that the roadworks at Nottingham have more or less finished, obviously i’m suggesting A14, M1, A50, though you could nip out through Market Harborough to Lutterworth as that road is now quiet.

Friday afternoons are nightmare anyway.

As for being wary of other lorries, basically if the bod behind the seat is in a perma hivis then expect the worse, this applies whatever name is on the door.

iv learned youve got to let go any hatred, or itll fester. i found myself watching yorkshire ripper vids for no good reason, then suddenly realized why, i was getting ideas in my head how to get revenges on folk who had diddled me. at that point i made a conscious decision to let things go id only got 2 or 3 who had done me wrong anyway -and i feel a whole lot better for it

Tuffnells, bulk tipper firms ,all drive like their arses are on fire.

I only use the first section to get home, Jack Richards ■■■■ drivers are going all the way on that route, whereas anyone with a brain would use a14 M6. And they aren’t just going that way to avoid Birmingham at rush hour, they use that route all the time. Their fuel bill must be way over what it should be going that way never mind it annoying the ■■■■ out of the people stuck behind them. Fine if you’re travelling from Oakham or Melton, but from Corby … really?.. :unamused:

any companies with drivers that think speed limits are maximums and not minimums who cant pull in and let everyone else past their rolling roadblocks .

Was parked up in Bilston last week and had the painful experience of watching a Romanian looking Stobart driver trying to reverse between me and a truck parked opposite that was cleaning out the drains. I just happened to have pulled the curtains as the drain cleaner man was frantically shouting him to stop before he hit his truck.

The week before I saw an old bloke (who you’d have thought would have a bit of an idea what he was doing) wipe out a van with his tail swing.

The standard of driving in both cases was truly shocking.

The one that I work for  …, but it’s more a reap what they so thing rather than irrationality. :bulb:
Thing is though I also like a lot the actual job I do there, so given that dilemna I deal with it by doing the job to the best of my ability, but look upon them with the contempt they deserve…and unfortunately  to my own detriment not always secretly, but mostly audibly

I aint one of those utter knobs who would do deliberate damage or ■■■■ things up to ‘‘get one back at them’’ either, it aint my nature and it would only jeapordise my job anyway, so I look after their kit and don’t upset customers.

It’s a ■■■■ shame really, if they treated their drivers like adults and cut out all the unnecessary b/s, (and maybe a few more quid, :unamused: ) they would get more out of their drivers (the ones with a brain anyway) where as most of the others seem either oblivious to it all, not seeing the true picture, and/or are a bit numb from the neck upwards and take it all (willinglly :unamused: ) on the chin.
Tbf we do have some complete ■■■■ rivets at all depots :unamused: , but the good drivers are treated exactly the same way as them, and there lies a big part of the problem.

Yeh? …Well I personally (and often do) rather than sit watching him struggle :unamused: I would have got out of my cab and watched the lad reverse in as a guide/help,…as we ALL used to do once over.

This week a lad was struggling with a nasty blindside between some gantries into a seldom used tipping point, lots of potential damage points, his mate sort of stood there watching (actually he sat on his arse in his lorry till i did the right thing) so i sited mesen at the appropriate danger points where the driver could see me in his ns mirros and waved and shouted the come ons and stops.

It would have been better if the other bloke could have watched the offside where he could be seen, he’d also have been able to get himself sorted sooner once this bloke had cleared the route through :unamused: but hey ho, this is the point we are now at where even their own workmates can’t be arsed.
