Your run home on a Friday should be a lot better now that the roadworks at Nottingham have more or less finished, obviously i’m suggesting A14, M1, A50, though you could nip out through Market Harborough to Lutterworth as that road is now quiet.

Friday afternoons are nightmare anyway.

As for being wary of other lorries, basically if the bod behind the seat is in a perma hivis then expect the worse, this applies whatever name is on the door.

Was parked up in Bilston last week and had the painful experience of watching a Romanian looking Stobart driver trying to reverse between me and a truck parked opposite that was cleaning out the drains. I just happened to have pulled the curtains as the drain cleaner man was frantically shouting him to stop before he hit his truck.
.

Yeh? …Well I personally (and often do) rather than sit watching him struggle :unamused: I would have got out of my cab and watched the lad reverse in as a guide/help,…as we ALL used to do once over.

This week a lad was struggling with a nasty blindside between some gantries into a seldom used tipping point, lots of potential damage points, his mate sort of stood there watching (actually he sat on his arse in his lorry till i did the right thing) so i sited mesen at the appropriate danger points where the driver could see me in his ns mirros and waved and shouted the come ons and stops.

It would have been better if the other bloke could have watched the offside where he could be seen, he’d also have been able to get himself sorted sooner once this bloke had cleared the route through :unamused: but hey ho, this is the point we are now at where even their own workmates can’t be arsed.

■■■■ pathetic aint it. :unamused:

The standard of driving in both cases was truly shocking.

And I presume you have the certificates of your own superior driving standard to prove your right to pass judgement on others?

Anyone that I have previously worked for, that take the (zb) out the drivers & they just seem to accept it.

Probably why I have a long list of former employers :unamused:

Always somebody who thinks speed limits are a minimum not a maximum to travel at.
Corby to Stoke seems a long way to be stuck behind any vehicle not just Jack Richards, perhaps you should change your route or your car if its that clapped out you can`t get passed him in that distance

I only use the first section to get home, Jack Richards ■■■■ drivers are going all the way on that route, whereas anyone with a brain would use a14 M6. And they aren’t just going that way to avoid Birmingham at rush hour, they use that route all the time. Their fuel bill must be way over what it should be going that way never mind it annoying the [zb] out of the people stuck behind them. Fine if you’re travelling from Oakham or Melton, but from Corby … really?.. :unamused:

If you drive for JRT you take the shortest route from A to B.

Which is incredibly short sighted of them, the route described is a hard drive in a lorry, if you aint under full power to get up one of dozens of hills you’re braking to go down the other side, plus countless junctions.
What’s the betting either of the obvious two alternatives would prove more economical, quicker and a fraction of the wear and tear to the vehicle.

One of the main positive points I looked at when I decided to work FT at Brakes for 3 years - was the Sunday-Thursday contract, getting me out of Fridays and Saturdays pretty much every week.

If I go back to FT from here on now I’m back on agency again…
Next time around - I’m aiming for a 4x12 week. I’m fed up with being half asleep in the middle of my 5th night shift, with the nodding dog driving around the M25 during morning rush hour. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

If you know he’s there every friday why don’t you take the alternative route ■■?

I agree, my last night shifts were on a Sun to Thurs pattern, Fridays can go do one.

Luckily my shift patterns are now based on a 4 day week, i don’t mind the weekend shifts at all, the roads are so much more pleasant to use with the bulk of lorries missing.

I’ll ignore the childish jibes, I’ve obviously hit a raw nerve of self realisation.

I did read your post btw, I imagined that seeing as you had it down as a …‘‘painful experience’’, it must have been some time beore you pulled your curtains, seeing as you used the term ‘‘watching’’ rather than ‘‘spotted’’. :bulb:

Are you his ■■■■■?

Not so much an irrational hatred, but for some reason Tuffnells irritate me, as do Bison’s of Peterborough.

db schenker.

Was told by some of their drivers at the Hungary F1 that I couldn’t park next to them as they were saving spaces for other lorries even though I was directed there by the car park guy.

I was basically told I was unworthy due to them being the Mercedes team. :frowning:

So unlike other teams where I was nice to their drivers I never help db schenker lorries on F1 work.

Just a thought maybe his mate was worse than useless and the passenger seat was the safest place for him to be, Had more than 1 banksman* who would twitch fingers in the dark spot & wonder why I got out, even after explaining what I NEED to see. Thats before you get the banksman who has other distractions like filming the swine of a reverse hoping for some youtube material, or the love/■■■■ interest stood beside them.
