…on single carriageways?
Thought it was due to have started by now?
I’m led to believe it’s 6th April.
I’m sure plenty of drivers have started already
been doing it for years

Allegedly !

even quicker down hill
So I’ve been told
Just look out for all the thick ■■■■■ s .that are through the dykes and sat in ditches after being sat on the limiter on unsuitable A roads,…because they can then you will know it has been sanctioned.

I’m gonna carry on like I’ve always done …
Stick to the speed limit and what lower speed is appropriate for the road I’m on at the time

Who does K.D Lang drive for then?
Some roads are more dangerous sticking to 40 than going at 45-50. The A16 in Lincolnshire, for example, is single lane but wide, straight(ish) and flat. It boils the blood of car drivers to be stuck behind lorries doing 40 and they carry out suicidal overtaking manoeuvres to get by…only to get stuck behind the next lorry…and the next…
I have given up sticking to the rules here, I think it is safer exceeding the limit just because of the insanity of the other motorists. Running a bit faster makes it more tolerable to be stuck behind, so less dangerous overall. We all get to the other end in one piece.
It would be a travesty of justice if a truck driver is prosecuted now for doing 40-50 on a single carriageway, given that the law will catch up to reality in a matter of weeks. I’m assuming that the authorities are just looking the other way these days and waiting for the rules to change officially.
A16 and A17 are classic examples of why we should be able to do 50mph. I just hope it gets through to British Sugar and ABN and Pilgrim Foods.

That’s not the Truck drivers fault
until you get caught
unless your pulled or cause an accident for breaking the speed limit
so really what your saying is your really identifying yourself in this category

Yeah at 50mph you will get to the next tractor quicker, that’s progress for ya.
The new speed limits should benefit the bridge bashers, an extra 10mph might just get them all the way through
It’s a shame they are reducing the speed limit to 50 [emoji6]

i know you like to go on about declining standards and all that, but do you really, hand on heart, believe there’s going to be a noticeable difference of the number in ditches?
