Where do you dread going?

Dafman:
WORK

hehe, couldn’t agree more -
I dread leaving the house without my family in tow - that only means that I have to go and drive to Bicester three times the day!!

Abie, Bigtruck and Roger will know Coca Cola in lambeg!!

he he

Round the world for a shortcut due to a low bridge. Also Evergreen peat in Coalisland!! Ohh lovely!!

Westland peat in Dungannon Co.Tyrone on a Friday afternoon has to be seen to be believed.Trucks parked all shapes waiting to get into the depot and one poor sod standing at the entrance trying to direct traffic in and out!!!

For me in the early 90’s and the 80’s it was Tesco (anywhere), then I got a driving job at Tesco and my attitude changed … HA HA

JS Haydock. Might be something to do with going there every day this week. Day off tomorrow and what would my run have been? … you guessed it … Morris Liverpool, typical :imp:

What’s the worst place you go to to deliver? What sends a shudder down your spine when told you are going to a certain place?
For me, it has to be the one way system in Kingston,Surrey,or the Magic Roundabout in Swindon,Wiltshire. Can’t think of any more but I’m sure there are hundreds of places like this!
Let us know your thoughts!

Dan.

P.S: Just remembered…The Paris ring road!!! :open_mouth:

TUT, nothing wrong with the Peripherique!! Its great fun running round there lol

For me it has to be anything connected with the biggest car park in Europe … the M25

Inside the M25 is my bug-bear. insane road layouts, mad drivers in a massive hurry, and a lack of visibility or road signs.

Inside Paris is bad too. I’ll go anywhere else happily.

I used to do a run from Belgium to La Coruna` on the west coast of Spain… Steel plate to the Military shipyards at Ferrol (Armada militaire!) for TNT; I liked that bit. The Backload, however, was usually roof slates to Holland from a factory inland that was so far up a mountain that the clouds came through the yard and the forklift driver could not see to load… Seriously. Been up there in rain, fog etc but the worst… coming down it with 26 tonne of slates behind me while driving through 6 inches of wet mud for 700 metres after a landslide (happened while i was up there loading). the track is around 5 miles UP to the Factory and its probably over 1 in 4 but dont know for sure, there are several severe bends to navigate (single track - with passing places) and at the highest point - about a 600 foot drop off the side into a ravine! got photos of it somewhere - actually took them at the time because i really thought there was going to be a big insurance claim !! (called my boss for permisson to try it and almost made a will too!!)

Funnily enough I dont miss going there! :open_mouth:

For any of you that may have done it: the factory is the one on the right near the top of `Pena Trevinca (A6 Ponferrada - O barco - Casaio!!) - cant remember the name of it…

Oh, and it is Portsmouth

Used to deliver to a place called ‘O Grove’ in North west Spain, then re-load out of La Corouna, the roads there in the 80s and 90s were a nightmare…Also driving between Irun and Victors at Burgos in the snow or rain…

In this country anywhere inside the M25…
