Yes to teach those landlords who thought they were above the law and stayed open only to be closed down and have all stock confiscated
My WAG.
Sometime in May the factories will be getting up and running again, together with building sites. There will still be a ban on gatherings, but that will become increasingly difficult to enforce. By the beginning of June, the bans will be lifted, but we will still be bombarded with messages about hygiene and keeping our distance, especially from vulnerable folk.
Schools will go back, probably with no contact sports and there may be some adjustments to the term dates to try to make up for the lost time.
does anyone else notice the irony with the o/p??

They are going to have to lift the restrictions gradually, if they have any sense.I’d say allow people to start socialising & travelling again week 1, get that out of our systems then start opening up the shops/bars/restaurants sometime after.
If the flood barriers are lifted all at once it will be absolute chaos with crowds and ■■■■ ups everywhere, not ideal at all. I can envisage the queues for the shopping centres right now.
No they can’t open the flood barriers all at once because adults can’t behave like adults everyone will be selfish and immature. A bit like speeding really people can’t be trusted to stick to speed limits so it requires cameras up to enforce it. With the lockdown being lifted people can’t be trusted to be sensible so it has to be done gradually and somehow enforced.

Totally agree I was in lanzarote in October and came back feeling like crap for about 4 weeks, the most obvious place I hot it was on the plane.Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
If you fly…
Business class only, you never catch anything.
Only way to travel, there’s only ever 13 other passengers in the cabin I fly with, nice to sit at the bar for a few hours, makes the 10 hour flight more enjoyable.
As for feeling like crap when you’ve been to Lanzarote, hardly surprising with the class of tourists that choose to spend their dole money travelling there.
Given that many wagon drivers will/have lose/lost their jobs with this virus, your post is pretty offensive Chief (not that it wasn’t anyway without the current situation).
Hopefully you will lose yours Mr Dropshort, then you can join the ranks that you treat with such derision. I would chuck a quick meme into the mix, but the one already posted cannot be improved upon.
Well the airline’s have decided they will resume holiday flights on June 17th.
Perhaps they know something we don’t??

It will end just like how most pandemics end without a vaccine. Lockdown will be lifted with restrictions but it wont matter, a second wave is guaranteed at this point. China is heading into its 2nd wave now and their lockdown was ■■■■■■■■ for 3 months. The army actually welded the doors shut on apartment complexes to keep people inside. We still got parks full of people sunbathing…
Alot of old people and the obese that negelected their health are going to die until we reach a point when the virus fizzles out as herd immunity kicks in. Thats how the bubonic plague ended and its how COVID-19 will end without a cure on the horizon.
The real question is how long will the government keep fighting each outbreak with lockdowns and restrictions. The economic damage has already been done, its gonna take many years to recover anywhere close to pre-covid.
Most of us will survive but living through a great depression is gonna be the real battle.

The sensible thing would be to cancel the summer holiday break and work right through to the next end of term to catch up.
As for thinking about heading off to foreign shores, going anywhere is probably the last thing you should be doing.

Quite right Pierre , I’ve put off changing my car from September this year to Feb next year when hopefully every thing will be near normal and my credit rating is back to where it should be after IVA

Personally, because of the amount of bleating taking place about how tough life is,I can see the government relaxing current restrictions too early.I believe this will cause a resurgence of the virus and we will be in a worse lockdown until,at least, the end of the year.
It’s only my happy disposition and optimistic nature that enables me to cope with life.

Yes its true if you lift the lockdown without another way of suppressing the spread of the virus it will peak again, but this will be true if we lift the lockdown in 3 weeks or 3 years, the virus is out there now and until there is a level of immunity in the population either through a vaccine or through surviving infection, every time the population goes back to normal the virus will spread at its normal rate.

My 19 plate car is due it’s first ever oil change service early next month, and I doubt that it will get done before the countdown on the dash goes into negative figures as the dealers whom I have a service plan with are in lockdown

I’m looking to take advantage of the glut of preregistration and new cars sitting in lots that would have been sold during the year

I care not for normality, never has been high on my agenda and tomorrow I shall buy some tobacco and start smoking again.
When will normality resume . .
when the footy season starts again.
My bet is that restrictions will be lifted only when Boris is led - by some advisers who are willing to state publicly that they thought it was a good idea - to believe that lifting the restrictions won’t result in another 10,000-plus people snuffing it.
Honestly, which of those slippery snakes in Government would take the chance of lifting restrictions unless they’re certain it wouldn’t bite them in the asp?
When the Nightingale Hospitals are in place is when the Lockdown restrictions will be eased. It was never about saving lives but making sure the NHS could cope with the surge of inpatients.
I reckon 3 more weeks then a gradual start to normality starting with getting large business up and running and eventually after a few more weeks pubs and restaurants will start to reopen.
