Great pic there Doze, parked your wagon on it’s side,

I am sat on the settee, holding a beer and eating pork pie.
Fear not, despite my loafing on the settee they still paid me just shy of £900 holidays pay for the week I was in Fuertaventura. Also I have won €100 on the Spanish El Gordo lottery

Just finished. Back in on the 29th for a shift then of till 3rd Jan + £500 xmas bonus.

Finished at lunch 23rd and back in Jan 3rd, £550 bonus for me

Bugger all for me :unamused:

I didn’t get a bonus as such, but due to pay parity I’ve got an unexpected pay rise of around 6% (approximately £1.50/hr) back dated to July and around £350 back pay, which was delayed and won’t be in the bank until Friday 30th

I think our pay talks start in Jan but doesn’t usually get sorted until around April then back pay to Jan
Not been any talk of cost of living or inflation pay rises unfortunately

Can’t see any of us getting pay rises any time soon to match inflation, if anything I’m expecting stagnation at best and agency rates to fall.

I was very surprised by the news, as I knew that the company and union were in negotiations but I didn’t know that they had reached agreement. So the money will come at the most appropriate time as things are slowing down and work is sporadic, the jobs this week have mainly been because some of the regular staff drivers have been putting in holidays and good boy days to extend their Christmas break. The whole site is shut down until Thursday, albeit the night drivers start back on Wednesday night.
If it wasn’t for pay parity I too think my agency pay will stagnate, and it’s certainly not a good time for anyone to be signing up with an agency in the next 12-24 months, especially if they need a regular income

Xmas hols = Xmas day off. Obviously some part-timers on here.

We’ve been awarded a below inflation 4%. I voted against accepting but it was accepted overall by the slimmest of margins. I voted no simply because it was the companies first offer. I understand why the majority accepted though as unlike the last time we are not playing from a position of strength; GXO have offloaded the Coldstore and staff to Magnavale leaving only around 40 GXO employees on site. Magnavale are reputedly investing £140 million on the site but looking at the plans there are no provisions for VMU, fuel island, vehicle wash etc.

We suspect that the only reason GXO haven’t pulled the plug on us is that they recently committed to buying 50 brand new fridge trailers. They could easily absorb our tractor units nationwide but they’d struggle with the fridges I reckon.

Hey ho, we’ll see what the new year brings.
