To be fair though driving a truck isnt really that hard.
It’s just the crap hours and crap pay that makes it a hard job. [emoji51]

Car tesr 75.
Drove a Transit pick up in 78 on UK long distance. (a good way to find your way around)
Class 3 (rigid) in 1979, drove one for 6 months for same guy with the Transit.
Took my Class 1 six months later, so kind of came up through the ranks in the driving job.
In those days a sleeper cab was a luxury, not like today where a 21 yr old new driver gets a top spec motor, so you appreciated a good truck at that time.
A mate of mine at the time had a provisional car licence at 21, took his Class 1 and got all his licences at once, as you could then.
He had to display a car type L plate alongside the HGV L plate.
I got the ones I finally thought were good enough, after having to return the first 3 sets with obvious faults.
You get what you pay for!
Passed all mine when I was in the Army…Class 3 along with my car test at the same time in 1979, then class 1 in '83. I was also expected to just ‘drive’ anything and everything else as and when needed… shame I never did the licences for them though.

Driving really isn’t that difficult, despite how many people seem intent on proving otherwise. Even bendies take little time to get to grips with.
