Why shouldn’t these places try and protect there stock? There was obviously a problem of stuff being stolen for them to spend money on preventative measures.
Maybe were a t-shirt with IM NOT A THIEF on the front so they know they don’t have to search you.
All for them protecting their stock. I don’t invite people into my home I don’t trust. And then I don’t feel the need to search everyone. Perhaps if they bothered to recruit properly and took care of the people they employed they would encounter less tea leaves.
What’s more… I drive a bloody great truck out of the gates. If I wanted to rob them I’d simply pull over for a break and pass over anything I want. I don’t need to put it in my bag!
The policy is there to degrade and keep you in your place. No other reason.
I don’t see what’s so degrading about opening your back doors and letting someone you don’t know have a rummage around.

I do agree with you though, there are limits that I apply to security people. A polite conversation setting those limits usually sorts things out. Never had a problem.

Plus side security lady on the place I’m at tonight is lovely. They don’t need to be throbbers. She is pleasant, gives useful information and is what a security person should be.
So on that note I’ll rob the place as I know she won’t be checking!
I object to being searched, unless there is reasonable suspicion, even opening trailer doors to prove I haven’t stolen anything is an infringement of my civil liberties. I am presumed innocent until proven guilty and therefore I have nothing to prove.
Depends how the security bloke asks me,had some say “do you mind if I just climb up your cab steps to make it look like I’m doing a search for these idiot managers mate”

If you have suspicions about me then watch back your cameras simple…
Delivery to prisons etc,also fine with a full search but no way am I having some self important p.rick search me…

They don’t get to search me or my truck. Simple.
They have no power to, unless you give them it, and you are under no obligation to consent to any searches. The police can’t search you without reasonable suspicion, security mouth breathers certainly can’t.
If they have genuine reason to believe I have stolen something they can call the police.
Can only remember being searched once since 81 and that was at gunpoint and the ■■■ dog ■■■■■■ on the passenger seat and that was on a back road in the middle o nowhere near the EIRE border in the bad days. ,had a snigger (when I went away) when one o them opened the rigids rear doors (after the trailer ) and the door whacked him in the mouth twas a continental rigid and doors opened different, strange thing the corporal was a guy from my home town and knew me from school. no offence to any others that took the queens shilling ,for a moment before I realised it was RUC &UDR I thought I was in the sht.
