Mine was in for service this weekend just gone and I asked nicely on the list of jobs to do if they would be kind enough to knock it up to 90 clicks for me, although I knew the likelihood of it happening was about zero. Imagine my suprise when it accelerated all the week up to 90 and a bit clicks when I joined the M62 at Tingley on Monday morning!
It’s well worth asking them as they seem like a good bunch of lads up there. I had a number of other very minor but niggly “defects” too, things like putting the steering wheel on straight (believe it or not!) and top marks to them, they did do. Very impressed; in fact as DAF sponsor the owner-drivers forum I might just start a thread to tell them meself
i used to go to chatfields alot when i was at longs of leeds but now my daf goes to normanton what used to be pelican foden its now gone over to daf. the best idea ever of frieghtliners was going there its 10 mins from stourton but going to chatfields at rush hour is 35 mins. but they are a good bunch at chatfields one of the blokes at longs used to bung them a tenner to knock up the speed on his daf. so you got a good deal.
on another subject rob what happened at mac’s regarding your uniform
it dont matter what make of truck it is if ya want it to go faster than 56mph ask an irish man how ya do it

Mine will do 75 mph on the tacho which shows as 70 mph on the GPS. But then it is a 7 1/2 ton Renault.

Not quite sure, 57mph I think. Put it this way, I spend most of the day in the middle lane overtaking everybody and only get overtaken by those Irish nutters.
I actually find it quite irritating being able to go 1mph faster than most trucks cos if you are ion the middle lane a lot you get nothing but abuse from car drivers who want to hog that lane too.

Might be worth mentioning Pelican to our lot as we have no end of trouble trying to get lifts back from Pudsey on a Friday night - naturally none of the drivers are up for it, but if it were at Normie then we might have some wagons passing enroute back to the yard who could pick them up. Incidentally I know exactly where you mean re Pelican - I was parked opposite their yard for a few hours this afternoon after tipping at Grimers/Rexam opposite. 
Regarding the MacFarlanes uniform issue, they said wear it or we’ll sack you. I said no need to bother coz I’m off anyway if that’s your attitude.
