and i had one the other night that i could not COULD NOT GET THE ■■■■■■■■ TRAILER OFF , backed into it pulled off it lifted it dropped it …
fifth wheel coupling had jammed
Make sure trailer brake is applied then release the parking brake on the unit, you will feel the unit settle then re-apply the parking brake on the unit. 99 times out of 100 that will cure this problem.
Ours are set at 55mph. Had about 70 out of it going down the M62 towards Leeds fully loaded one morning but chickened out and pulled it back to 60.
Anyone heading down that way next week… Two mornings this week the police have been parked with no lights on on one of those ramp-type things next to the hard shoulder. Presumably on the look out for wagons hammering down the hill? Keep your eye out for 'em!
Like Munchman, I don’t one have either!..Ha! Ha! Ha!
Mine only goes up to 80mph on the the clock, but It will keep on getting faster long after I’ve hit the 80 mph mark…just ask Andy M, he rode with me last week
Difficult to say. Got new truck Saturday and haven’t been out in it yet. The old truck was calibrated and sealed showing 56 on the tacho and head, but doing 59/60. Scania dealer set it at this. Think the new one will do a flat 90k.
on the daff i drive at the mo it will sit on 55 happily (unless im fullt freighted up hill)
Most Trucks i drive kill the speed by 56 or lower, but the hilldown let i go them to 60,as that is the regular UK_speedlimit for HGV.
The EUhasno Speedlimit for UK,just the order from London is here to have a Speedlimiter fitted, which must work correctly
As there can not work the hill down,if you havent it cupled to a Redarder must you kill the Speed thereself, which is said in UK-Law “60miles/Hour”
Iam Right,or Wrong?
jessicas dad:
mines is 54 mph its just steady away and its automatic so i cant get it any faster.
I’m assuming your CF will go for service up at Chatfields at Pudsey, JD Mine was in for service this weekend just gone and I asked nicely on the list of jobs to do if they would be kind enough to knock it up to 90 clicks for me, although I knew the likelihood of it happening was about zero. Imagine my suprise when it accelerated all the week up to 90 and a bit clicks when I joined the M62 at Tingley on Monday morning!
It’s well worth asking them as they seem like a good bunch of lads up there. I had a number of other very minor but niggly “defects” too, things like putting the steering wheel on straight (believe it or not!) and top marks to them, they did do. Very impressed; in fact as DAF sponsor the owner-drivers forum I might just start a thread to tell them meself
