Good choice? 420 replacing a 450? It’s a day cab shopping trolley spec apparently. Purchase price the same as a Daf CF.
Having driven Fodens with CAT 450s in them for London Waste I’d say yes it is a good choice. Those old heaps of scrap wouldn’t pull the skin off a rice pudding and used to be pushed along by the spare truck, a 380 T reg day cab Scania.
Were they the gas ones they had? I remember they used to have terrible trouble on the landfill at rainham which was surprising as the foden was always a good lorry on the tip.

No the ones I drove most were the blue ones out of Watford but I did drive the gas ones a bit too and Christ on a bike were they slow. More power in a dead chickens wottle.

Funny you should say that, I drove one of it’s 6w sisters and that was draughty like a shed until I fitted draught excluders around the door frames. You didn’t need a bunk to sleep in them though
I never got stuck on a tip with her, but she cooked 3 alternators in 3 years.

I never thought there was anything ‘up with him’. Lukes publiscised himself enough here to build up a following. He just posts here enougth to keep him self active and the links in his profile seen by google to keep his site rankings at the top. He occasionally answers any critics of his here, just enough to keep him in the 'i speak up for any minority and wrong doing" category.

Yes it is a professional truck drivers forum but I do think some of you should lighten up and not take life so serious. I rather enjoy some funny comments and threads on here it makes me chuckle when winding down for the night.

To me this is just a trouble makers thread I have been on here since before day one when it was else where, there seem to be a lot of wanna be drivers on here and a lot of wingers and trouble makers, can’t blame the owners as posts and members numbers make money, you could ask anyone anything on here and trust the answer, nowadays its like being sat in an RDC waiting room listening to rubbish about chalk and how far away from the steering wheel you can sleep
