Our mob used to try this stunt of paying day rate whilst starting at say 2 am - oldest trick in the book.
Anyway being as we’re self employed we politely started knocking these jobs back - and in the end they had to cave.
Now we’re enhanced up to 6 am and so it should be.

The whole scenario would be alien to us and not something any driver i know could adhere to . Being given start times is treating drivers like kids. Hand out the paperwork with delivery slot times and let them decide how long its going to take to get there. Seems it would be akin to working in a zbing creche…
I agree to an extent but it’s also nice (aka lazy i know) to just be told to roll in at a certain given time and let the planners earn their keep and actually ‘plan’ something, with the obvious added bonus of if it all goes ■■■■ up it’s not your fault 
This also reminds me of a sign I saw a while back stating something along the lines of…
Drivers please do not clock in any earlier than the start time given by your planner.
Clocking in 1/2hr earlier costs us an extra £4.50 per shift
that is £22.50 week
and that adds up to £1080.00 a year!
I almost wish I was hourly paid now, I’d clock in an hour early and clock out an hour late, I’d earn an extra £4320.00 a year for doing bugger all

It maybe to do with I said last week if I start at midnight I should be paid night money not from midnight - 6 am , but I can’t get hold of anyone to ask , or am I putting 2 +2 = 5 and its to do with night working / 24 hr clock or something , normally says start at midnightHope you told him you’d be in @ 03:21,11 hours after he had interrupted your rest period which meant you had to re start it.
I think I should of had Monday off after they interrupted my

It says here
you get night rate from 18:00-06:00 and day rate from 06:00-18:00.
So either you don’t have a clue or IMHO they should pay you the night rate from 00:01-06:00.

if I’m reading you right your saying what I already know there paying me night rate from midnight to 6 am , what I’m saying if you start at midnight you should be classed as a night driver so paid night rate for the full shift , not classed as a day driver and paid less than half the shift at night rate , apologies if I’m reading what your saying wrong .

Thats nowt, we have trampers who CHOOSE to start a 00 .01 on a Monday morning, or worse same time on a Tuesday after a Bank hol Mon, to start a 8 hour or so run down the road, with a few drops on, rather than go on a Sunday pm at premium rate, and a night out. 
I kid you not.
