Whats the worst truck you have driven

when i was in the army i took the route of class 3 class 2 then class 1 my class 2 test was in a AEC 6 wheeler. no power steering an a crash gear box. needed arms like garth to get around the cones lol

my truck was having some work done on it last year.
i asked the boss if he had anything about the yard so i could go up to coleraine for my load.
i took the yard shunter. what a laugh.
it left a cloud of smoke behind. no limiter. but it took 3.5 minutes to get to 60mph when it was empty. i picked up my trailer and headed back to the yard.
all i needed was a flat cap, bib and brace, and some chewing tobaco.
it would have been quicker to wait for my truck to be fixed.

Bedford TK, I had to stoop down to be able to see through the windscreen :frowning: , I can still feel the ache in my neck and shoulders

I did the same. We didn’t have any six wheelers (trucks) but needed Class II to drive the stallys on the roads.

One of the guys had to use both hands to lift the gear lever over the gate, and had to stand up so he could reach the top of the steering wheel and pull it round to turn tight corners at low speed

A 3 year old (at the time)M reg Magnum 420 tag axle. I still shudder when i think of that.

Ford ‘D’ Series
Leyland Cheiftain

Oh the joys of Royal Mail in the 80’s

Eight wheeled foden tanker from Culloden Moor to Ardrossan on the old A9, was in the seventies will never forget it as long as I live, it was loaded with hot tar and I had never driven a rigid before. The Foden box was a nightmare after being used to scanias, that was the last time I ever did the boss a favour on a friday night.

rental mercedes axor, 51 plate, just horrible.

my first ever truck, was a f plate m.a.n twin splitter, and that was far superior too the axor.

Having spent a lot of time on agencies, I’ve driven my fair share of sheds. Worst one of all was fairly recently, an old Scanny 82 HIAB for Manor Brickyard in Swansea.Did one morning in it, refused to take it out agan, needless to say I’ve not been back there

BEDFORD… British Engineeering Disaster, Fix Or Rebuild Daily. I remember the first time I drove a TL after years of TK’s, and couldn’t believe it’d taken them 20 years to design a truck which someone over five foot six could drive without getting neck-ache. In fairness to Bedford, the TK was (and still is if it’s got PAS) a very good truck to do city multi-drop with.

Drove an ERF once with an eaton twin splitter the worst gearbox ever made in the worst truck ever made, the biggest pile of ■■■■■ i have ever driven but came very close to a renault premium but fortunately that had a slap over box which ■■■■■■ all over the stupid twin splinter .
