What's gone wrong

Started my shift today
Drove 1.54
Other work 17 mins
Break 16 mins
Then was told load won’t be ready for around 2 hours so put it on poa after I was load stared to drive looked at my driving time and it had re-set to 0.00 again what’s gone wrong ■■?

POA resets your driving clock. It doesn’t however reset your driving TIME. you should have put it on breaks hike waiting, then other work while securing, instead of POA, that way your driving time would have reset giving you a fresh driving period of 4.5 hours once your load was ready.

You haven’t done anything wrong, but you’ve complicated your day unnecessarily IMO.

It’s done my head in all day !!! :grimacing:

Display on tacho can’t differentiate between break and POA and so after 45 mins POA it resets the driving time. Printout and data on card will be correct though.

The poa box mode acts as a break on the tacho there for its reset your driving time although it has reset your time it does not class as a break so you still have 2.36 left don’t go over that time and you’ll be fine but you will have to have a 45 min break when you have driven the 2.36
Although you only need a 30 min break you will have to have a 45 to stop you getting a infringement.

Never ever ever use POA unless you desperately and under penalty of death have to for reason given above!

It’s the mode invented by satan ! More trouble than it’s worth , unless of course you need to get average down [emoji12] and can keep track of drive time !!

This has been discussed a lot on the board, if you’re going to use POA you need to keep track of your driving time because of the tachograph wrongly counting POA as break.

The problem is that if you took the tachograph display as true and drove for another 4.5 hours, you would have done 6 hours 24 minutes driving with only a 16 minute break, people have been caught out by this and ended up getting infringements for insufficient break.

No he won’t.

The digital tachograph counts POA as break but the analysis software doesn’t, the biggest problem is that the driving time on the digital tachograph won’t be right until the driver has a 45 minute break.

Tachograph. You highlighted what ive said to be wrong and then say exactly what ive said :open_mouth:
I don’t understand you ! :unamused:

Tango, I think he was highlighting the bit where you said that the op needed a 45 min break, when he/she didn’t as a 15 min break was taken earlier.

Or perhaps I’m misunderstanding due to an early finish and (what was) a fridge full of Budweiser?
