thought about container work but I get pxxxxd off sitting around for even two hours let alone six,theres only so much sleep a person can have,container work would bore me rigid

Tippers on muckaway,as long as you dont mind same route on some jobs maybe 20/30 a day,and auto tailgates means you dont even get your feet dirty :smiley:

The now defunct innovate depot at Larkhall. When stobarts first went in there I sometimes did 4 hours driving. That was a big day.

Tipper work. I don’t even have a net fitted to my trailer as my loads are scrap metal and cars so all I have to do is open the rear doors a couple of times a day.

Twist locks or slide skelly and drive. Oh and refuel.
Just about sums it up.
When I was on them '00-'02 we had a job that was at least a ten hour tip. Often bacjed on bay at 06:00 & pulled off around 17:30-18:00.
Polish unit inside and out, polish skelly,walk into town and have dinner in pub or cafe, back to wagon and have kip,strip wash and shave in customers premises then run you 16hr spreadover (in those days) out and pub and bed. 8 off and gone again. Easy life!

All that strutting round in a uniform telling everybody what a hero you are seems to go down well with a ■■■■■■■■ company.You dont even need to know how to couple up to a trailer so you will fit in nicely.

Serious question here, iv always looked down at lazy [zb], because iv always worked hard i was a infantry soldier for 12 years and been on operations to the middle east, now im a civvie i just want my piece of freedom which we were supposedly fighting for? :question: Now i actully enjoy driving when i got into my car for leave from the army it was a pleasurable experience, now when i look at it and see lazy [zb] i think “hes efficient” and on his way home being a even lazier [zb] horizontal on the sofa, so common blokes i know there is some “efficient lazy [zb]” here what type of driving job for a lazy [zb]■■?

What area are you in? Anywhere near Reading? I did put up on here not so long back that we were after a night driver (if you can call it that!) but didn’t seem like there was any interest!

Class 2 multi-drop is about at hard as it gets which is why I went straight to C+E. I intended to aim for containers but there is (it seems) a LOT of waiting around so I’ve gone for fridge boxes, so far so good, nice and relaxed, I do enough to feel like I’m getting exercise and the odd tough day but overall pleasant and clean. :slight_smile:
