I’m with the Mercedes haters, I had a couple of 1625/1626s and they had no pull at all. I once got overtaken by a pushbike struggling up Jubilee Way
Had a Powerliner 2433 in later years which was marginally better which ain’t saying much.

Had an old 3025 8 wheel tipper non turbo v8 was slow but I had a real soft spot for it had a few days in a 460 actros and it pulled really well

I’d always wanted to drive a big yank truck and what a disappointment that was, like sticking your hand up Jennifer Aniston’s skirt and grabbing hold of a pair of bollox Follow me at brandttruck.com/blog/

GT = Gallic Tat
The company I worked for got one for the light weight, the driver absolutely loved it at the time, but I still preferred my old F7

Mine rattled and banged , wouldn`t pull even with an 18 speed box i got an older Foden after that thing with a 320 Gardner and it was like winning the pools (no lottery then)

I think the one we got had the 16 speed (ZF!) box as the B18 was discontinued. The replacement 340 Turboliner was like a Rolls Royce, lovely lorry
anything ive driven i want to win the lottery amd retire
Hi all,We had a yard full of 1960/1 Scammell Highwaymen 150 Gardeners gate change,still get the shudders thinking about going over Shap on night trunk to Scotland.Cheers TED.
should have put on last post the fact we ran mostly nite trunks as long as the motors pushed on a bit couldnt give a toss what it was exept the erf we had in bristol waht a pile of ■■■ that was. once the 301’s were bought they were on 2 yr buy back so motors changed around regulary

The Turboliner was a totally different lorry infact i would go as far as as saying it was better specially the cab ,than the Premium which replaced it .We had 2,a 340 and a 365 we were convinced there was someone on the production line in france just sticking different power badges on them as there was no difference in performance with ours
