The world’s oil supply has completely gone . . .
Will we really have 44 Tonne electric trucks ?
Will the load be in the cab whilst the trailer holds the batteries ?
What will future generation Truck Drivers be driving ?
Your thoughts please.

AArgh the worlds going to end - no food, no beer no…

My prediction is that long before the oil runs out, there will be no such job as “truck driver”, trucks will be fully automated, controlled by GPS and distance sensors. All the technology exists already, it’s just a case of fine-tuning it. The rise of automatic gearboxes is a huge leap towards it.
Natural gas.
Hydrogen power.
I dont care, i wont be here

Correct, neither will i, its a long way off before anyone on here should worry about, perhaps we will go backwards as predicted…start useing steam power again…choo…choo.
Well, let’s face it, 17th century peasants had a better life than we do, working half the time, shagging and getting ■■■■■■ for the other half. What would be so sad about going back to that?

Because there’ll be no coal because won’t that have run out before the oil?

Trust you to put a dampner on it all!!
Electric tractor units have already been developed, that are caperble of hauling ~44 tonnes the batteries are built into the units, I belive currently the range to a charge is around 50 miles but I’m sure with demand that could be increased, I would imagine a system rather like this
tramsworld.com/articles/arti … -12th.html would be used with motorways and major routs being powerd to recharge the batteries
Will everything be on electic trains more, then onto almost milk float sized ‘trucks’■■
The Port of Los Angeles are already well on the way to being ready
It will be like mad max, it will be great!!! We have enough oil for next 100 years anyway, it’s other things we should be worrying about like the increase of artificial intelligence.

People keep saying that, but there will still be someone to watch what the truck is doing and step in if it all goes Pete Tong. Think of it this way, if that was really possible there’d be no train drivers by now as they have one less variable than trucks.
