What is your place doing about Monday?

Normal hours for me,albeit at double time and a day in lieu.
Could be worse

If I’d know earlier in the week that I’d be not working Saturday->Tuesday, I would have booked a last minute flight out and had a 4 day break. But by the time I tried to book it was impossible to get a flight out on Saturday morning as they where fully booked up at the 3 departure airports I use (EMA, MAN, & LBA)

Heard a good one earlier, one of the crappy firms who did not recognise yesterday as a Bank hol,.(a tad disrespectful btw) and who told their drivers that wanted to watch the funeral to take a day’s hol, a day unpaid leave…or break into their next year’s hols :open_mouth: …When the day arrived
The drivers who wanted to work as normal, but who found there was not a run for them were actually going to comply. :open_mouth:
So they lost a hol and/or a day’s pay, .rather than turn up for work and demand to be paid, (being that it was not their problem that the firm did not have a run for them) so they basically willingly lost out.
Apart from that those who did work should have been paid bank hol rate.
Drivers eh? :unamused:

One happy bunny. Got back from Spain at weekend to find an email saying no work on Monday fully paid…as I suspected

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and I will be saying far into the future…lorry drivers are thick as ****. Unbelievable that they gave up a free pay day.

"Bank holidays
Bank or public holidays do not have to be given as paid leave.

An employer can choose to include bank holidays as part of a worker’s statutory annual leave."
gov.uk/holiday-entitlement-rights

Employers do (currently) have to give a minimum number of paid holidays per year. If that minimum is met, then extra days, can be unpaid.
If the Gov call an extra b-hol, as on Monday, there is no legal obligation for the employer to pay the worker for it.
The Gov aren`t giving an “extra free paid holiday” to all.

Yep,.and this is why most of us will always have to put up with ■■■■ poor t.s & c.s, …■■■■ takes like this example, cameras in cabs, micro management, being ran ragged, paying for damage and any other crap you can think of. :unamused:

No they ain’t, but good firms who value their drivers,.and/or most Union backed firms are and did.
That’s my final word on all this, cos I’m starting to bore myself with it, never mind boring you lot  , but I hope I got my point across especially to any co bosses who regularly monitor this forum.
