The A15 from Lincoln, you’re stuffed if you get behind a tanker.Only for 3 more days, although I just finished my last shift doing that tonight.
Yes, I did stick to 40mph religiously.
Not me, 53 all the way.

I don’t know about the worst road but the missus and me were staying near Dumfries last week in the caravan and had a run up to Lockerbie and over the hills behind the town. There were potholes that if a car or bike hit them at night would cause major vehicle damage or even Death to the bike rider and these were B roads and not country bye-roads, some of the craters extended nearly the full width of the road! Even some A roads were bad in places, as I live in Derbyshire I am used to crap roads but these were way worse.Pete.
Do you mean the road from Lockerbie to Eskdalemuir? If so there was a pothole on that road that made you think something major had happened if you hit it with the nearside steer! Right on the white line it was too. Plenty of other potholes and craters to keep you on your toes.

Shankhill road during the troubles (as they called it). Delivering too the brewery. One of oor motor’s got shot at.
That said anywhere at the time as we drove bright orange units and trls. Not good.
lol not a good idea

No, we went the other way via Bankshill but that was just as bad considering there is a quarry up there so no shortage of stone etc! The holes took some negotiating in the daylight, God knows what driving at night must be like as some you just couldn’t avoid. Even the A75 is as rough as a Badger’s arse in places, and then you come to a lovely smooth stretch. I suppose it will all be resurfaced in time but those rough spots catch you out.
Pete.

naw it wasn’t the best. Took me ages to figure out that people in the streets were not waving at me they were putting a hand up in salute to the red hand (if u understand ).
Good times.
Bad roads. Chose anyone of them out a sawmill up north, stacked right up with chips or bark, top heavy like Jordan in her day. J&G Riddell coming the other way flat out. Now they’re roads from hell, none of this motorway rubbish.

I would say the A65 from Leeds to the M6.It’s not for the faint hearted during the night,as it’s absolutely pitch black, and even during the day,if you have another truck coming the other way,it’s a breath in time, and pull your mirror in,as it’s so narrow in places.
Ken.
Its not as bad since they slowed most of it down to 40, still a bad road.
To me it’s the one from Greenodd to Whitehaven, via Millom. How that has the nerve to be classed an A-Road is beyond me
A483 Llandovery through to Newtown Mid Wales is a road that leaves a lot to be desired.
the cat and fiddle has been officially removed from the dangerous roads list . i should flaming think so after many thousands of pounds spent on average speed cameras for the whole 12 miles and dozens of extra signs all over the place . all because of wannabe casey stoners with more ambition than ability . cheers , dave
Some fun roads around Vernon country/West Wales.
A487/486/484 Lampeter, Llandysul, Llanbydder down to Carmarthen etc. Good laugh in the dark.

A got caught out with that road a few months back, I was running equipment from Harestanes windfarm on the 701 to a new site south of Hawick and rather that go down to Kirkpatrick Fleming and over on to the A7 on a road I knew was ok I decided to be smart and try the Lockerbie to Langholm Road, Big mistake
hi all
i,m putting forward the m42 between jct 9 and jct 3 always blocked and now with the "active traffic management "really does not help at all.there also seems to be never ending repairs at night.with the overhead gantries set to 20 mph
M6 on a Friday or Bank Holiday! bumper to bumper from Birmingham to Preston
Or how bout the A14 from Welford to Cathorpe?
A21between Tonbridge and Hastings.
I vote for this road because locally it has a notorious reputation as a life taker. Most of the way this road is tight and with little or no overtaking points it can encourage inpatient drivers to take some silly chances. I have been driving this road for a number of years now on a regular basis and all the drivers at my yard have many stories or close shaves with people overtaking them. For an example of what happens on this road check this link out hastingsobserver.co.uk/newsh … 3844115.jp
A43 between Northampton and Stamford is notorious too, its a major route for HGV traffic some of the supermarket trucks doing the speed limit causing impatient car drivers to overtake on the dodgy stretches. Have had a couple of close shaves along there! Brown Pants moment when a tipper truck was overtaking but he couldnt get past!
Far too many bad ones to be a worst, besides it depends how you define worst, most dangerous, worst surface, worst congestion? One that springs to mind is the A27 from Littlehampton to the other side of Chichester, starting with a stupid T-junction at the end of the dual carriageway, then some single carriageway and then far too many roundabouts and poorly designed ones at that for what is essentially the only main route along the coast, congestion is appalling all day long.
Washington to Metrocentre on the A1 - its a giant car park at peak times
the A82 THE A83 IN ARGYLL AND BUTE DIABOLICAL WIDTH HOLES ETC
Scotland Road (tunnel approach), Liverpool… more pothole than road, I swear I have whiplash off it…

you wanna gerra claim in laa
for me it’s probably the A14 alconbury to newmarket in either direction - and now the Powers That Be say increasing estimated cost of the new section bypassing Huntingdon may mean it gets scrapped or downgraded
Any road into the toilet that is London.
