When i went up to mansfield this week i found this parked next to the lorry i was training in , what ya think dont think people will miss this on the road
hasnt had anyone training in it yet brand new at PST Mansfield ,
Is that the new colour of his bus in the last pic?
Hi Dean, no thatās not my bus. If you recall, thatās silver. But itās getting the ātreatmentā in the next few weeks as the other trucks are as well.

Hi Jennie, thanks for posting some really good pictures. Have invested a whole Ā£29.95 in new camera following the demise of the āold faithfullā on Saturday!!
Definitely stands out
Thatās the general idea!! It came about when I didnāt recognise one of my own trucks coming towards me! Donāt think thatāll happen again.

I remember it was silver but also remember you saying it would be getting a makeover. Was just curious

Very nice truck , care to share the spec ā ā ?
Iām sure Pete will share the Spec in a bit.
However I know for a fact he keeps his vehicles to the minimum requirements for the DSA ⦠hence his strapline āKeeping It Simpleā.
Admittedly it does come as a bit of a shock when you are used to driving 26t rigids to then be faced with that as a prime mover for WnD. But it gets the job done and gets the category on your license
I was waiting until I was in the office so I could cheat and copy it from another document. But Iāll do my best to remember the spec but bear with me for errors and omissions.
Iveco 120E25 EEV

2.5 metres wide
3.5 metres high
12 tonnes MAM
26 tonnes Train
200 litre fuel tank
GRP body with flush barn doors
Lifting side crash bars
Headlight protectors
Additional mirror o/s
8 speed gearbox - 4 over 4 with switch
Drawbar equipped with air/elec at waist height
Dual passenger seat
Airfoil
Crazy livery!
Canāt recall diff ratio but itās set up to move away in 4th including uphill. (3rd with trailer). This means the normal gear pattern is 4, 6, 7, 8 or 3,5,6or7,8 with trailer.
Happy to answer questions as far as I can without having the spec in front of me. Engine is a 250 (described as Euro 5 and a half) which is extremely flexible. Virtually impossible to be in the wrong gear ie keep your foot down and it will pull.

Happy new year, Pete
250 engine I bet thats nice and lively for an empty training vehicle, beats the rubbish most are using

These 250ās are incredible. So lively and flexible. Ideal for the job. It has to be better to train on a newer vehicle where the controls do what theyāre meant to do rather than a used vehicle that has possbily done half a million miles or more and already enjoyed itās useful life. Itās a mystery to me; learn on a car and you would expect it to be no more than 3 years old. But somehow people settle for trucks that have already got precariously close to the scrap yard. This is the importance of visiting the training centre. We are not all the same.
Loving the livery, glad your paying and not me
Glad you like it - Iām still getting used to it! At least Iāll see them coming now! BTW, the livery cost more than a little - but itās cheap advertising in the long run.
