What has TruckNet taught you?

There’s a lot of good natured banter on this forum, but has this site taught you anything new or opened your eyes?

Seen a lot of good advice regarding drivers hours on here and learnt a few things about branches of the job that don’t really concern me, but still good to know.

As for eye openers … well I don’t want to sound naive, but until I joined Tnet I thought working for Stobarts was what all truckers aspired to

Been given loads of great advice and learned loads of stuff, especially about running through Europe and looking after trucks.

Never to late to learn

Some people do aspire to earning £7 something an hour.

Mainly truckers like you say though. Most lorry drivers set their sights a little higher.

It has taught me what the Mercedes badges mean

There’s some moaning [zb]'s out there

This forum has its fair share of RDC loud mouths, but there are also plenty who really know their stuff and are willing to help out, some of them have gone beyond just replying to my posts and have phoned me and let me have their phone numbers so I have help 24/7.

It also has some real nutters who’s posts are always worth reading.

Its taught me that a lot of drivers are in the wrong job and they should be a crack team of csi wallers

Very true, but that is the power of the stobart marketing machine. Being a newbie I honestly thought stobarts was what every truc … sorry lorry driver, wanted to be. I only used the term “truckers” cos the website is called “trucknet”. Always thought of myself as a lorry driver and that “trucker” sounded too burger munching baseball cap wearing checked jacket clad american.

Taught me never to eat yellow snow…

That I don’t just share a yard with grumpy miserable people…

Its taught me theres a lot a lying moaners on here
