What has TruckNet taught you?

its taught to watch what I say because you don’t know who’s reading also that people really are as stupid that I think they are.

stagedriver raises an interesting point

I just thought he was drunk

muckles:
there are also plenty who really know their stuff and are willing to help out, some of them have gone beyond just replying to my posts and have phoned me and let me have their phone numbers so I have help 24/7.

It also has some real nutters who’s posts are always worth reading.

+1
There are also some real people out there, and meeting them in person puts a face to the name.
The Xmas shindig is also another way to connect to the names to the faces

I’ve gained a lot of good fashion advice for men with a fuller figure.

I won’t lie, it’s taught me quite alot of useful things. It’s also taught me drivers are a “special” breed.

Not to use Peekaboo frilly tassled curtains.

I found out that the nationwide training company I’d contacted were actually a broker and needed to be avoided.

I got my Mod4 with a local training company where I’d failed dismally with my first option.

I booked my CE with Mr Smythe after the many great reviews on here.

I got the basics of Tacho Law and WTD from the gurus on here.

I have often looked back through posts and got answers to where a place is, where I can safely park, etc.

Most people are helpful on here. The odd user is on here for a wind up. Majority make it a great place to be.

Long may it continue.

Fixed that for you

“Special needs” or let out for the day and to be escorted in public as not to scare them.Think of the children.
Day release passes are available.

That a lot of truck drivers can’t spell and don’t understand what a spell checker is. Oh, and that some drivers prefer a fancy truck to a decent wage. :grimacing:

Apart from getting good memories from the drivers who did the job same era that I did[as well as many a good chuckle]it also tells me many things I didn,t know.Having been retired many yrs it also keeps me in touch with the world of trucking today.Really enjoy it,log on most days, long may it last.

Might have a winge or two, too myself, but realise after reading this forum, alot of of drivers are being exploited, I earnt over £900 last week, so should all drivers, working 60 ish hours.

Been given loads of great advice and learned loads of stuff, especially about running bent through Europe and looking after tacho records

That about 80% of the members are idiots for a start
Have any of you any idea how dumb you sound by asking questions about what to take ona night out for instance ?
How to reverse and artic ? … there’s not a living sole can tell you how to reverse and artic, it’s something you can either do or not do.
Should I report the company to VOSA because my light doesn’t work ? was another, Fix the damm light you idiot.

I know, I know, you think I’m a miserable git but, it’s such a sad thing when the industry has resorted to having drivers who have no idea about real life
Rant over
