Yeah, planet rock has gotten me through a night before. Remember leasing to a furniture company in Carlisle about a year back (just before i did some work around Benelux and Scandinavia) and I was driving there and back to Plymouth.
I must have scanned the radio for something about 26 times before coming across a bit of Whitesnake…
It has been a preset ever since…but sadly a neglected one due to having a few cracking audiobooks and comedy podcasts of late.
On Topic, Kerrang if I can pick it up. LBC 97.3 if I’m in the M25 area, although I have recently discovered Tony Livesey on 909 is more entertaining than the LBC guy on at the same time. If I’m outside LBC and Kerrang range then it’s 5 Live all the way. If I want music I have CDs, I tend to find talk radio suits both me and whatever drivers mate I have that night. Most drivers mates are pretty mainstream or at the other end of the spectrum kind of chavvy but they are still cool. Either way they’d hate the music I’d want to listen to so I compromise by just putting the football on. Eberyone’s happy then.
BBC Radio Newcastle. On the rare occasions I`m out of range my MP3 gets switched on.
Lots of Camera Obscura, Enya, old Bowie and Jack Johnson on it.
Comes in handy at my local Tesco RDC waiting room.
Today program on radio 4 in the morning then 5 live until I get so worked up listening to Victoria Derbyshire and all the “lefties” moaning about the “cuts”. Then its a bit of Magic 105.4 to calm me down a bit.
I usually listen to Radio 4 and sometimes to that French radio station you can get on long vawes around, I think, 190, which is similar to it. Sometimes I listen to Jeremy Vine on BBC 2 and to some similar programs on local radio stations where general public calls to express their opinion - I find it really good insight into British mentality (altough I know that people who call radio shows are not the average ones).
As for music, recently I listened mostly to Polish rock for 80s as I needed it for my research. But apart from that, I also tend to listen to “old ■■■■’s music”
YAAAY another topic where i can mention my obsession with 6 Music! Unlike many of the other comments I’m completely obsessed with new music and 6 fills my needs in this respect. And no its not Beiber, Gaga, Minaj its lots of stuff that will never have a single in the top 10.
When not 6 i listen to the new music 6 has introduced me to using Spotify on my phone and i also listen to a fair bit of Radio 4 and always the Archers. Also love audiobooks. Alas there isn’t enough listening time in the day! Not had a TV for years and listen to the radio when parked up and cooking dinner. ONWARD
Bloody switch and his spotify!!

Thanks switch.
Great stuff you’re welcome! Costs £9.99 a month to use on my phone but for that you can download as much as you like to listen offline and no ads. Saved me a fortune in the long run. Used to buy half a dozen new albums a month.
i just use the 4.99 a month, (bit stingy)
but i drive a volvo as well, so when i get me new phone thing, can plug it into the truck and have decent sounds.
why cant we download and buy music from it tho?
I listen to:
ring ring, ring ring,
Can you pick some butter up on your way back?
I’m in Romania you daft cow.
Oh, Can you get some of that soft bread while you’re there?
Ok, love you see you later.
ring ring, ring ring,
Can you get me that handbag i wanted?
What [zb]ing handbag?
You know the one, It was in the shop at the top of that road near the bank, you saw me look at it.
oh errr right, no problem, love you see you later.
