In a previous thread on the same subject,a forum member recommended these,V12 Boulder Black Derby boots.

I recently bought a pair, and I’ve been really impressed…probably the best boots I’ve ever had.
They seem a tad wider than most boots that I tried, which helps with my recurring “bunion type” problem that I suffer from
Supplied with spare laces too…good idea IMO.
The only problem I have with the caterpillars is the lace eye brackets at the top aren’t deep enough so you lash them in first thing in the morning & they fall out again, no good if you’re bursting for a ■■■■■, the air can be blue.
Janos:
Wolverine from Arco. About eighty quid. Best boots I have ever had. Comfortable, warm, waterproof and look smart. Recommend without any hesitation.
Well I called into them today and picked up a set I even got them cheaper as they give us a discount nice boots had them on all day with no problems
wolverine raider steel toe best set of boots I have seen sub £200 if you ask me for day to day use look smart as well
also picked up a pair of bates 2346 ics for when I don’t need steel toe caps
I like Meindl when I don’t need steels but I might try ICS next time they look alright
I swore by Meindle when I used to go climbing and walking, I used a pair (still have them) in 1999 to climb the Matterhorn, I had Salomon high altitude boot for the big accent but on practice climbs they where killing me after a day as they are a narrow fit and I have fat hobbits feet, donated them and they ended up on some teenagers feet on a trip to Everest base camp.
We get boots supplied free or £40 towards our own pair, some good tips in this thread
