What? £8.65 p/h

Of course a lot of firms it’s the knock on effect of people requiring transport and everyone racing to the bottom competing. We have a small family business here always crying out for drivers moaning he can’t get them. He pays £140 for nights. I did three shifts, two were 15’s and one I ran out of time and I’m no slouch!

The work was for subbing for Freshlinc who pay crap rates therefore he pays crap rates. Instead of people just not doing these jobs another transport firm will do it. Any fool can be busy.

I’ve been offered a class 1 job on days, never going more than an hour’s drive from base so I’d be home every night and nice new motors. Only thing is it’s £9.50 per hour with overtime available at weekends. It’s less than what I’m on now doing night trunking but I’m tempted.

My 18 year old daughter does dog walking in her spare time and she gets £8 an hour for that and no expensive license to get just a decent pair of walking shoes …

Yes but aren`t you all forgetting… it says in the advert that they are hoping to progress from containers to curtainsiders and…maybe…fridges! WOW!

It amazes me that people who see a crappy hourly rate suddenly are interested if overtime is offered! What?
The advert should say “well take you for a fool for 40 hrs but dont worry, we`ll offer to make a fool of you for an extra 30hrs a week as well”.
Some drivers are just thick, and its always been the case.
