We've all dreamed of doing it

I did what we’ve all dreamed of doing one time or another. Told my boss to stick his job up his Arse. Long story short did 3 13hr shifts just finished another when boss said you hang about do another del& collection as “you’ve been sitting on your Arse doing f@“k all day” I politely told him that won’t be happening and went home. Missed calls with voice msg you’re getting sacked in the morning etc. Next morning went in boss lets get to work  I said we need to chat, he said cmon we all say things in the heat of the moment, I said your right “stick your job up your a”'e!” Very liberating.

Already got a new full time position, don’t put up with nonsense.

Lost count of the amount of times I’ve done it.

Good on ya, mate. I like a man with backbone and conviction  I hope the ■■■■ struggles with his workload.

good on you mate

Ive never understood why people feel loyalty to their boss in this industry

Ive had literally hundreds of jobs in this industry and have left for all sorts of minor reasons :
Boss gets new range rover , hire motors a DAF , Have to turn round to fill ad blue , coffee machine robbed me , dont like colour of lorry , radio has no AUX socket , didnt pay me a night out by mistake , marker light out on trailer , number plate cracked , frilly curtains , phoned me on day off , changed start time , doesnt do ride to work scheme , office dude didnt say morning , no secure bike racks , no clean car park ,grumpy forkies, no pay rise after first week ,delivery in bradford , subbying for culina etc

These are all reasons ive quit this year alone

Today i havent made it round factory once in 4 hours .

Not coming in here again !!!

Mjallby, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do, hope the new job works out well for you.

Boredwivlivin, there might be a reason if we all have a group think about it why you can’t crack the better jobs.

Me Sir!! Me Sir! I know the answer.

It’s because he is a ■■■.

This was the final straw, I’m not one for jumping jobs for any little thing my last job before this one I was there for 15 years. Cheers for well wishes, it was just a poisonous place to work, I won’t be the last to leave.

Sounds like your now old guvnor could do with a few here today gone tomorrow herberts(now who could we suggest?) , make him appreciate good people again cos he’s plainly another one who thinks there’s a never ending supply of A1 top class drivers out there ready to be plucked from the tree like a good Cox’s apple.

Throughout the economic downturn, many employers have just constantly taken the pee… Now the economy is improving and there is an increased demand for a declining supply of HGV qualified drivers, those employers that still continue to take the pee, be abusive to their staff, or show little regard for their workforce, will reap the rewards of having trucks standing in their yards.

Whilst I can’t speak for all areas, there is no shortage of HGV jobs out there now, so why put up with the crap off folks?

Good for you, the whole reason drivers get the ■■■■ taken out of them is because we don’t stand up for ourselves.

I walked from a job last night to supposed to be 1900 start, turn up, it took an hour to locate the vehicle keys, then half an hour to locate the paperwork, then I couldn’t hook up to trailer because it was would be in way of entrance, then there were no straps available to secure load…

I was honest with myself and them and told them that I had already been awake for 12 hours and was in no fit state to work for another 11 hours 9 of which were driving. So yet again lost a day of my life and no pay because people think they can disrespect me and take the ■■■■.

To make things worse I got chatting to a guy from another agency and he was on £3 an hour more than me!!!

Cheerio

Why were you turning up for a night shift when you’d been up all day?

Agency driver…

I’m agency too but I don’t turn up for a night shift after I’ve been up all day. No amount of money can compensate for how crap you feel halfway through the shift and the following day as a result of being up more than 24hrs straight.
