Such a shame, feel for the family and the driver of the car she was a passenger in.

Hope the other driver has nightmares for the rest of their life.

2 hours later and that could’ve been me. I was along there around 1am this morning coming back from Wales in my car. I’m surprised there weren’t more accidents as I saw some unbelievable driving going on.

I didn’t see what you saw, but tbh mate, that’s just daily routine on there, the driving standards on that motorway and especially that stretch between Milnrow and the M1 in my opinion are some of the worst in the country.

People often call London, they dread going there, but I have always found London to be a reasonable place to drive, very slow, takes all day, but the driving is predictable, everyone’s in a rush so are going to cut you up if it gets them somewhere quicker, but on the M62 there just isn’t any predictability, people will cut you up if they think you’re going quicker, or if they don’t like you or if they’re busy on their phone or whatever.

People who kill someone due to drink driving should be charged with murder or manslaughter as a minimum. You take the chance, you pay the price.

If that was my daughter that had been killed I’d save the taxpayer a fortune in legal fees because I’d personally strangle the ■■■■■■■■

Hopefully this will bring a swift conclusion to his dodgy asylum petition and they can deport him back to “Bob”

Indeed Robert Mugabe has the answer in his own backyard!

+1…

Sometimes people die due to a mistake from another driver, in that case each individual incident should be viewed accordingly, which is why we have the judicial system, but in this case (and those where drink or drugs are a factor) the driver should get the same sentence as he would for a murder. Driving without insurance or a licence shows that he had total disregard for the law and other people’s safety, for that reason this wasn’t an accident, but a crime, he should get 25yrs at least and then be deported upon release, no clemency, no human rights ■■■■■■■■, twenty five in a ■■■■■’s wing with a bit of Police brutality thrown in for good measure :smiling_imp:

^^^ 100% agree

Why the ■■■■ would someone drive the wrong way on any road in the first place, that’s the bit I don’t get…■■?

Pimpdaddy:
Why the [zb] would someone drive the wrong way on any road in the first place, that’s the bit I don’t get…■■?

Unfortunately it does happen fairly regularly.

The usual causes as I’ve seen are;

Elderly or in-experienced drivers, these tend to rejoin the c/way from services the same way that they came off the motorway.

Foreign driver mistake due to them used to driving on the right hand side of the road.

Drunk or drugged up. Anything can happen with this lot!

Those trying to escape the police (who are not allowed to follow on the wrong c/way) these usually are driving at speed.

Foreign driver excuse doesn’t wash in this case. They drive on the same side as we do at home.

Well it seems to me there are 2 types of asylum seeker: genuine or bogus. If you’re fleeing an oppressive regime, fearing for your life after being tortured e.g. perhaps like what happens in Zimbabwe, then perhaps you fit in the former category. OTOH if you’re a chancer or criminal who wants a better life and are prepared to lie to get it then perhaps the latter fits your description. If you were genuine originally then you sure wouldn’t want to jeopardise your chances by doing what he did. He will be done for death by dangerous driving, then eventually deported after a relatively easy but constrained life, shall we say. Prejudice! (on my part). We should still think of the poor innocent girl killed though.

We could all miss something or make an error of judgement. This man committed a serious crime and should be punished in his own country. My sympathy is with the dead persons family.

He pleaded guilty. Before reading, any guesses to how much he got? (I bet you might underestimate it):-
